  3. Having run The Broken Tower, I am planning to run a session dealing with its aftermath when the characters return to the tribe with the cattle. The characters are an Orlanthi Noble, an Ernalda Earth Priestess, an Eurmali Entertainer, a Humakti Warrior, and an Old Tarshite Herder. They returned with both cattle raiders captured, a good two thirds of the cattle surviving, and the Ernalda Priestess having sacrificed to the Stone Woman. I have specific NPCs interested in what some of the characters learned. So the chieftain’s wife will ask general questions and will primarily be interested in dealing with arranging ransom and repayment from the offending tribe. She will general questions and take advice, but will be primarily interested in what the Orlanthi Noble has to say. The Lankor Mhy priest will want to know more about the Broken Tower and want to get up there soon. He will ask everyone questions The Maran Gor priestess will demand to know more about the Stone Woman and want to go there immediately. She will have lots of questions for the Ernalda Earth Priestess. Which leaves the other three characters. I want to involve them, but am not sure how. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey there, A few months ago I heard on the KARTAS podcast that Ken Hite's own custom hellenistic 13th Age campaign featured only "in character" maps, i.e. either the players draw their own maps based on the GM's description of their travels (or what NPCs tell them), or, if they want to see some cool hand-outs, they need to go find some cartographer who has maps to sell (or steal). I thought that this is pretty cool -- it's kind of a shame to hold off on maps, because frankly everybody loves maps, especially Gloranthan maps which are often super cool, but on the other hand, this also makes maps even more special since players have to do some work before the GM lets them see any. So of course I figured "what if did that for my upcoming RQG campaign?". But first I have some questions: 1. Did anybody do that? (even if it's for other games) Any feedback? 2. What is, even, the general availability of maps in Glorantha? I assume that you probably find maps for sale at any good Lhankor Mhy temple, but where else? How expensive would they be? How common would they be? (for instance, there are probably maps in Boldhome's palace, but what about, say, Queen Leika's residence? Or Apple Lane's thane's house?) 3. How detailed would Gloranthan maps be? How far would they cover? For instance, would Queen Leika's maps feature landmarks in other tribes' territories? Would they have a lot of information on, say, Lunar Tarsh or Esrolia? Is Prax even accurately mapped out, or would it be mostly vague maps that convey the general knowledge that "it's a couple days' ride South from Pimper's Block to the Devil's Marsh"? Etc... Thanks!

    Previous Versions 0.2b Updated to include better rune affiliations, cults, rune points, skills (including some corrections). Tried to get as much practical information on the front page while keeping the same general layout as before. 0.3b Updated to include combat skills, addition of shield to combat silhouette, adjusted passions to allow better usage, and some minor rearrangement. It should be pretty function at this point though you might need reading glasses. 0.70b This is probably about the best I can manage short of the final game. Added all known skills in list, adjusted font sizes and styles for readability (if over 45 you may still need glasses), updated layout, many minor tweaks. Two versions of this one with a splash of color and one solely in black and white. Final version until the release of the full game barring any glaring errors. 0.75b One more with some minor fixes discovered while using during play. Fixed track skill percent which was incorrect and too high. Changed Point to HP on listed weapons to avoid confusion based on new players feedback. Everything else is the same. 0.76b Fixed the glaring error of wrong hit location number for chest on the homunculus. 0.78b Added an approximation of the new RuneQuest logo and did some minor layout fixes Previous versions can be found here: https://basicroleplaying.org/files/file/581-runequest-roleplaying-in-glorantha-character-sheet/ Current 1.0 Updated to released version of RuneQuest.   7. I am thinking about taking RQ2 scenarios and updating NPC stats to RQG. If we cloud source it we can get some real traction. I know RQG is great but the old scenarios were awesome. As a group we can pick a starting scenario and then divvey up the NPC'S. Then we can all use them with our groups. Whats your thoughts. We could do it all in a forum thread.

    These are my edited first two pages of Chaosium's human Character Sheet for RuneQuest: Glorantha (RQG). These two pages should be sufficient for players who prefer to write their own backgrounds/biographies. I kept the overall look of the original sheet while shuffling things around and adding some things I thought were missing: Removed weapon category skills (only kept "natural weapons"), moved equipment to the first page, moved Rune Affinities and Passions to 2nd page, added 8 rune affinities (Chaos, Plant, Law, etc.) added "Original" and "Current" characteristic lines, added armor type/ENC/SIZ per location lines and a move speed line, added blank lines (at least one) to most skill categories, including weapons and Sorcerous Magic, divided the long lines in equipment and spells sections, moved Mount/Ally section to 2nd page (from 3rd), and probably other minor things I forgot about.

  11. Hmm I know this is not my usual stomping grounds, the HQ forums and all. But based on info gleaned here I now own both red cow modules and am very happy integrating all that Glorantha Goodness into my campaign. Now, I was wondering, I already own RQ2's wonderful Pavis as well as Big Rubblein box set and the classic pdf from Moon Design to supplement it and make if searchable and to assist in creating player aids. Now the question; is would there be real advantages in having Pavis GTA to fill in the gaps of mythology, and add the HQ encounters (love the sartar companion's one page or more encounters/stories). Are there other advantages or new material in GTA that would make the purchase worth while? It 26 and a half bucks (cdn) which is a lot for a souvenir at the moment but perhaps I can add it to my wish list due to things it could add to an already great corner of the world. Cheers

  17. Hi, Folks I'm attaching a write-up I did for my 1618 RQ:G Colymar Campaign of the Kolating tradition. I wanted an option for our clan shamans that was consistent with the excellent HeroQuest description of Kolatings and also didn't leave Kolating shamans disadvantaged vis-a-vis Daka Fal or Waha or other rune cult shamans. My solution was to give Kolatings the unique shamanic ability Exhale Seza. KOLATING TRADITION.docx

    The Sea Cave

    Just wondering if anyone has played (or read through) Greg Stafford's RQ Classic scenario The Sea Cave yet and what do you think - has it stood the test of time? (BTW, a short while ago Rick added four more pages to the file, which now includes Greg's pre-Griffin Mountain version of the Cacodemon Cult. These extra pages are in the print version that is in production now, and are also in the downloadable file available to backers who bought the Old School RuneQuest Pack.)

We are now reveiwing those suggested corrections to prepare files to go to printer. We will also be producing an updated PDF which will be made available to everyone who has purchased the PDF. Once the updated PDF has been released, we will open this thread to catch any typos or errors spotted. We will continue to update PDFs on the Chaosium website, DriveThru RPG, and Bits & Mortar. I was looking around at Chaosium's submission stuff since I thought it could be fun to try writing some scenarios or an adventure, and it made me wonder what sort of third-party markets there are for Runequest. I know there's a long history of fanzines (like with Tales of the Reaching Moon), and that Chaosium's brought back Wyrms Footnotes but the submissions page seems a bit old and rusty, leading me to think that biennial publication isn't actually happening. Does anyone else know of fanzines, third-party publishers, etc. who are making or planning to make stuff for RQG?

Hi All I've just posted a RuneQuest Podcast to theGROGNARDfiles.com which features an interview with Rick Meints, president of Chaosium talking about how he started in RPGs and how his love of playing developed into running the company. There's also coverage of the RuneRites department in White Dwarf and an examination of the rules of Mythras. In the next part I'll be selecting 5 items from Rick's collection he played back in the day to discuss his experiences. I'll also be looking at Borderlands, which we played twice, 33 years apart. In other RuneQuest news, I also appeared on the Dissecting Worlds Podcast and ran an actual play of Gringle's Pawnshop for the RPG Academy, as part of their 'Trial' Series (coming soon - you can see a recording of the Twitch broadcast on their YouTube channel).     There was some stuff from Chaosium previously, to the effect that they planned (hoped?) to have electronic tools available with (or shortly following) the release of RQG. Give the E-vailabity of RQG now, it looks "released" from the e-tools perspective ... 🙂 FantasyGrounds? Roll20? HeroLabs? Metacreator? Bueller?
