  1. I know fans generally loved Gal Godot and Lynda Carter in the role and sneered at the 1974 and 2011 television pilots that offerred alternative takes on Wonder Woman. But a part of me would like to have seen the blonde secret agent and grumpy toy tycoon versions fully developed. Perhaps in a Doctor Who style crossover event among the various iterations, teaming up to save the day. After all, the comics themselves have given us a de-powered Emma Peel style Diana, an angry stressed out heroine (after a series of crises) willing to injure bad guys, and a blonde substitute Wonder Woman with a m

  3. Working from the Big Gold Book. I'm trying to create a character that can generate convincing visual and auditory illusions. The Illusion spell from the Magic power suite seems too limited and doesn't really do what I want. I thought about Energy Control (sound and light); that would easily work for Marvel's Dazzler but it doesn't quite achieve what I'm after, either. Any suggestions?
  4. I posted this on the BRP subreddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/BRP) a while back, but I wanted to ask here and see what everyone thought. Anyone had any experience running or GMing very high powered/cosmic level superheroes in BRP, either with Superworld (which I think is terrific and underrated) or with the super powers in the Big Gold Book? I know that common wisdom asserts that superheroic BRP games work best from street-level characters up to about Spider-Man power levels, but then breaks down from there (indeed, the example characters in Superworld fall into this power range, and the
  5. Hi Everyone, I'm looking for one or two more players for a play-by-post superheroes game using HeroQuest 2.0 (and what bits we know about 2.1). No HQ experience is needed, though it is certainly a plus. Contact me here or through RPG.net and I'll let you know the details.

  7. We've all seen similar scenarios in the comics or on assorted animated series: the hero of our favorite superhero title is confronted by a group of opponents whose members were given their abilities and are sponsored by a corporate entity. However, the largest private employer in the world isn't Stark Enterprises, Star Labs or Lexcorp. It's Walmart, rural dime store chain grown into a global phenomenon. It had to happen and today it has; as part of its exclusive promotion deal of the upcoming Man of Steel movie, Walmart has named its official superhero team (drawn and scripted by DC Comics
  8. It's the Phantom (the Ghost Who Walks) vs. the Phantom (of the Opera, stats in Cthulhu By Gaslight). Both are unusually strong, stealthy and agile. Both possess preternaturally keen senses and a presence able to awe those around them. Both wear funky costumes yet seek to keep their existence a secret. Each is a master of his chosen domain (jungle/urban jungle). Each has a signature weapon (pistol/lasso). Both are skilled at tracking down people who seek to elude them. Both have a soft spot for a beautiful woman. Both are active in the 1870s. Discuss -- tactics, damage, likely outco
