HeartQuintessence
To the Tribe, So a friend pointed out to me that that GM Screen PAck, has a non player character sheet for NPCs. Do we have digital form fillable versions of this? and rules to make NPCs, or generate them quickly? Or is it just the standard character creation rules with some some things loppped off? Also what about the Squad Sheet is the PDF, fillable of that? Please and thank you, Heart. Edited July 9, 2020 by HeartQuintessence
Scotty
There will be an update to the Chaosium and DTRPG PDF releases of the Gamesmaster Screen Pack soonish: Artisan Adventurer sheet (updated to 1.0.1 & Form-fillable) NPC sheets & Squad Sheet (Form-fillable) RQ Players Pack (bookmarked) --- Creating NPC guidelines will be available in future products. Jeff has just today posted on FB, look at the Facebook July 2020 Highlights for the link, as the replies aren't included - here's the gist: Quote One very important thing in RQG is that much of the character stats are player facing. As a GM, it is perfectly fine detailing a zombie as nothing more than: Zombie Hit Points 16 Magic Points 5 Armor: heavy scale hauberk, bronze greaves and vambraces, open helm IH Spear 50% 1d6+1+1d6 And then add the hit location chart. And that’s it. I always find the hit location chart handy. 😀 Only worry about the stuff that will matter in how your players are likely to interact with it. Don’t bother to worry about the rest. You might discover in play that Zombie 3 has glimmerings of memories of life and keeps muttering “Rosebud.” But don’t worry about that until then. Why write down armor? Because in my experience that is the first thing that gets looted. I have a party that just got their hands on 18 scale hauberks, and an equal number of pairs of bronze greaves and hauberks, and open helms. That’s enough to equip a raiding force! Remember that NPCs don't have to follow the rules when you create them. There are lots of threads with guidance on NPC creation:: https://basicroleplaying.org/topic/12012-question-for-rq-gm’s-about-npc-creation/ https://basicroleplaying.org/topic/9151-npc-enemy-sheet/ I personally use a generator card: https://basicroleplaying.org/topic/12012-question-for-rq-gm’s-about-npc-creation/?tab=comments#comment-183921

It would be nice to have this demonstrated in the published RQG adventures and sourcebooks, to set proper expectations with new GMs. Right now, all NPCs, even arguably minor encounters, have complete full write-ups. Stephen L
On 7/9/2020 at 1:20 AM, HeartQuintessence said: standard character creation rules There are a few resource on the web to auto generate NPCs (which isn't quite what you asked, but might be useful): https://www.cradleofheroes.net/ Phil Hibbs has spreadsheets, covered in this thread. There's also a generator from Dan Z here: https://basicroleplaying.net/rqg/ I've one I've written myself, available on request (in c# .net), but I've output a range of NPCs and a few creatures for download here (added to when I need to for my campaign, I suspect Dinosaurs next, either that or undead...) Lastly there's NPCs on the Jonstown Compendium in Akhelas' Heortlings of Sartar https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/315742/Heortlings-of-Sartar If you don't mind conversion from RQ ii, you could use fangs: https://www.chaosium.com/content/FreePDFs/RuneQuest/Classic/CHA4002- FANGS - Monster Stats.pdf or indeed, there's a bundle of RQii stuff including packs of NPCs https://www.chaosium.com/runequest-old-school-resource-pack/

Checked back on the GM Screen Pack and lots of useful material added - the Apple Lane and Clearwine maps are very handy for Roll20. The RQ Players Pack is a great resource. Oooooooooooh yay thanks so much! Now if only there was an easy way to find my downloads and/or updated orders on the Chaosium website 😉 Edited August 4, 2021 by lordabdul Quote Ludovic aka Lordabdul -- read and listen to The God Learners , the Gloranthan podcast, newsletter, & blog !
