imd
With Call of Cthulhu 5.6.1 and the free BRP Quick Start guide, would I have enough to run Classic Fantasy on top of, or if not, what parts of BRP in particular, rather than BRP games in general, does CF rely on? threedeesix
Classic Fantasy make use of the "Magic" system from Basic Roleplaying. I'm not sure how much if any of that is in the BRP Quick Start as I don't have it handy. As for the rest, I would think you could make do with just the Quickstart as I tried to make character creation pretty intuitive. imd
The quick start guide says magic is a kind of power, and that powers aren't included in it.
Chaot
The Magic rules are in Classic Fantasy. I would venture to say that yes, you can run Classic Fantasy with CoC5 and the BRP quick start. 1 Quote 70/
Mankcam
Totally agree. I could easily play a good fantasy setting with just the BRP Quickstart Rules + BRP Classic Fantasy monograph. You will have to make up your own stats for opponents and monsters however, unless you also grab the BRP Basic Creatures monograph. There are some spot rules included in Classic Fantasy, and in the true spirit of 'old school' you can just hand wave anything that's not in there Quote " Sure it's fun, but it is also well known that a D20 roll and an AC is no match against a hefty swing of a D100% and a D20 Hit Location Table!" imd
Or there's the in the downloads section. Edit: which reports an error when you try to actually download it. Anyone know what the deal is?

Mankcam
How did I forget that these existed, tooley1chris? I remember being quite impressed when you initially had them posted Yes, of course, these are perfect with Classic Fantasy, right down to the old flavour of the early D&D Monster Manuals Great stuff! 1 Quote " Sure it's fun, but it is also well known that a D20 roll and an AC is no match against a hefty swing of a D100% and a D20 Hit Location Table!" tooley1chris
Thanks Mankcam! Just FYI, Rod (Classic Fantasy guru) has told me he's working on a tome, coincidentally called Manual of Monsters. He's been doing this A LOT longer than I and his conversions will probably be much more true. It will most likely suck up some of my money, and deservingly so. 2 Quote Author QUASAR space opera system: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/459723/QUASAR?affiliate_id=810507 My Magic World projects page: Tooleys Underwhelming Projects
