Godlearner
Quote Skin cannot be ignited. Hair or fur can be, but only if the caster overcomes the target’s POW. So lets say one casts an Ignite spell on a bison ... what now? Hair and fur really do not burn well. What are the consequences of this spell if nothing is done about it? Godlearner
Quote A burnt bison. Yeah, not likely as I said before fur does not burn very well.
French Desperate WindChild
I would say the bison will have the same effect than fanatism (feared then angry, then fanatic) with a smell effect addition So ignit can be dangerous on a bison 2

No but the pelt may also trap loose hairs, dust, or bits of fluff, which when met with the sudden ignition from the spell, could cause a surface flash phenomenon. While not a long lasting fire, nor one that would be likely to cause permanent harm, the flames would quickly spread over the entire body of the bison. The bison, now on fire, is likely to panic, ignoring any attempts to control it. And I'm sure there's lots of fun to be had with a panicking bison.
Godlearner
... what's the effect of a Jack-o-bear? Surely you do not want a fanaticism effect on that.

What are the consequences of this spell if nothing is done about it? Use the fire rules on page 157. Although covered in hair, a bison isn't that flammable. Like most hair fires, you get an initial flashover that rarely causes injury. But the bison is very unlikely to catch fire. The main outcome is it will likely bolt away from the heat. I'm sure many people on this forum have encountered human hair fires and singed dogs.
