There are Shamans just about everywhere in glorantha - even in Malkioni lands. Do they need to quest up Storm Walk and seek the Kolati and if so are there any named Kolati that are published, I recall in a Hero Quest there were a few but are there any already detailed. I suppose a Kolati Shaman could easily be similar to Baoban, Cormac's guide but with wings. Once infected with some chaos disease the PC's will need to head up the mountain to find Serge Kahili... I assume they would need to go via Bulflood and then west to the south of Jab Hills as they are a bit dangerous... then turn north to the mountain to find the Shaman. Just think about the fortune tellers, palm readers, or the like in a city - there's your urban shamans. That's pretty much the route to Stormwalk. The main approach (and low temple) is at the south foot of the mountain. Sure, IRL a brujo / bruja. Claim to remove curses and the evil eye. Maybe to make curses too. Cure or more likely mitigate diseases. Provide charms. Can be urban or rural. But if an urban shaman rubs your Glorantha wrong, you don't have to provide one. A Misty Mountain Hop - up Stormwalk is shaping up nicely. The PC's meet a local shaman but are sent up the mountain to literally elevate the quest. Maybe the Storm Walk Hero Quest comes into play? Bear in mind that even to Storm worshippers, Stormwalk is not a "welcoming" place. 😉 Traditionally, all quests follow the Spiral Path - 7 times around to reach the top. And don't forget to make appropriate offerings at the Low Temple (otherwise you'll be opposed by Storm Bull himself!) The remains of Rock Lord will try to ground you right at the start. Gagarth always comes at some point to challenge your rights. Trickster (probably Raven) will be amused if he can trip you up and see how well you bounce down the mountain. And, of course, Inora waits at the top, looking to add to her collection of adoring admirers (well, they were living once, but now they are ice mummies serving her bidding; or ice spirits if you're on the Other Side). And make sure you've got the right offerings at the High Temple too! (Yes, there is a temple at the peak, too, with someone attending to the needs of Storm Home.) Perfect. What is the closest thing Glorantha has to a Gravel or Rock Gollum? Not an elemental per se. Maybe its a gargoyle made of small boulders and rocks in lieu of a nicely shaped statue. Rock demon sent/placed by the Rock Lord (who is he)? I suppose the same as an ice demon but maybe damage reduction from slashing or impaling weapons? On that same note, Leskos is a likely stop on the way to Leo's Workshop, Refuge or Seapolis for trading ships headed down the southern coast of the plateau. Leskos (small city): This seaside city lies at the mouth of a steep ravine leading up to the Heortland Plateau and is surrounded by thousand-foot-high cliffs. It is defended by the Danshavlas Fort built in the Second Age by its Jrusteli founder; most of the inhabitants are Esvularing. It is wealthy, serving as the port for Durengard and ruled by a ring of local merchants. What relationships does Leskos ave with Durengard? He's the one that Storm Bull twisted into a corkscrew shape and then pulled his head off. It's Durengard's seaport (like Piraeus for Athens). Although the sound reaches closer to Durengard, there's no closer seaport due to the towering plateau walls and the strong river current. In my experience of Heortland, Leskos is the navy base protecting the Bullflood inlet, with a small flotilla of locally crewed biremes and maybe a trireme or two. It serves as a trans-shipping harbor for vessels too deep to navigate the Bullflood up to Durengard (outside of the highest tide), and acts as an off-loading point for fishing communities on the coast. With Durengard being the "royal seat" of the governor king instituted by Belintar, and later the king of Malkonwal or the Lunar administration taking over in Rikard's wake, the relationship between Leskos and Durengard may be something akin to Ostia and Rome or Piraeus and Athens, on a smaller scale. Not the looks of this picture below, Salzburg, but more like Ostia in appearance say, more ancient with some upgrades? The GtG talks of 1000 foot cliffs but those, based on the map are in the background and Leskos is out in the delta from what I see in the map?
