In my Civil War association, there was this kid [okay he was about 25 years old] who was only slightly less conservative in politics than Rush Limbaugh [a noted political gasbag here in the US, and so right-wing he doesn't have a left thumb]. This kid thought Winston Churchill was just the cat's ass. He was everything the Heroic Conservative Politician ought to be. Well, I've known the quote for years and I took great joy in popping this kid's balloon with the unvarnished truth. In public. And then I dared him to go look it up. Then he quit talking to me. Yep.
