halciber
Looking at the skills in the Keeper's Rulebook, each one has a percentage in the title. E.g. Accounting (05%). What does that mean exactly? What is this value used for? Thanks, Mike
ragr
It's the basic level that all investigators possess at the start of character generation. This skill can be used at that base level or points added to the skill during the character generation process. If you add nothing to it it can be used at that score during play and if used successfully (unlikely) can be "ticked" for improvement during the investigator development phase. 2
Ema Nymton
p.36 Keeper Rulebook "Note that each skill has a number in brackets next to it on the investigator sheet: this is the base chance of success in that skill, and any points allocated to that skill are added to this base number." Think of it like a natural ability. Some things we can do at a basic or intuitive level without study. e.g. Anyone can pick up a gun, point and fire. But everything gets better with study and/or practice. 1
