Beorne
Sould I halve the bonus or not? I.e. i have 50 long bow skill augmented by 20. If I halve it by long range should I roll under 35 or under 45? Thanks.
soltakss
The answer should be 35. You halve everything. 2 1 Quote Simon Phipp - Caldmore Chameleon - Wallowing in my elitism since 1982. I was looking exactly for that in the rules for augments a few days ago but I could not find it.

I am not sure if it states it in the rules. If you don't go that way, you open yourself up to loads of tricky calculations for no real benefit. Akhôrahil
The best way to think about it is probably the difference between a multiplier to your skill, like Arrow Trance or using an adjacent skill, and a multiplier to your chance of success, such as a long-distance attack. The augment is not included when multiplying your skill, but is when multiplying your chance of success. At least this is what makes sense for me. Beorne
Mechanically is simple, a bonus / malus can be additive or multiplicative. If we have two or more modifiers of the same type there is no problem, but if they are of different type has to be decided if first apply additive then multiplicative modifier or first multiplicative then additive.
