IndianaKen
I have 6th edition, and I am thinking of buying some copies of 5th edition (I found several copies cheap) as gifts for my gaming group. Is there much of a difference between the two?
Dyvim Matt
Not really. There has been a few tweaks in the rules from one edition to the other over the years, but overall, they have been so minor that they don't have a major impact. Most changes from one edition to the next consist of reorganizing material, importing material from a supplement to the core book, etc. You should have no problem whatsoever. HierophantX
We had this problem with my last group. Though I may be remembering a difference between 4th and 5th rather than 5th or 6th. I believe the issue was with how magic worked and how learning and using spells was resolved.
rust
My impression from the various German editions of Call of Cthulhu is that the publishers occasionally introduce some very minor, usually negligible change and add some new ma- terial in order to justify the production and sale of a new edition of the core rules. Eric L. Webb
the older editions were less forgiving with sanity loss....indefinite insanity occured instantlly....not the following day, if i remember corectlly.Think they changed that in 5th edition. dragonewt
After an exacting analysis, I have concluded that the difference between editions is one.
