As I'm one of the many co-authors of that monograph, self-promotion could seem like the purpose behind this, but some run-away automated process is responsible. That's my explanation at least and I'm sticking to it! I've tried to disable the entire forum where the cms-comments end up, hopefully that will do the trick!
