seneschal
In other words, what's the most unlikely Lovecraftian reference you can recall in popular media or elsewhere. One of my own: An episode of the '80s cartoon G.I. Joe had COBRA trying to communicate with a mysterious entity inhabiting an isolated, ancient well; of course, the Joes ended up having to fight the thing, a massive worm-like intelligence. Batman's crazy enemies are shipped off to Arkham Asylum (hmmm, where have we heard that name before?), run by a sinister family of psychologists whose rehabilitation theories are consistently unsound. GianniVacca
Er, the Lovecraftian "deities" in the 1st edition of the AD&D Deities and Demi-Gods? I can't possibly think of a rolegame further away from Lovecraftian horror than AD&D. BMonroe
There was also an episode of the He-Man revival in the 90s in which the Sorceress' castle was guarded by the three-lobed burning eye "Haunter of the Dark" avatar of Nyarlathotep. Course, that episode was penned by Larry DiTillio, of "Masks of Nyarlathotep" fame. Quote Please don't contact me with Chaosium questions.
