Zenith Comics Presents...
So I'm reading the character creation in preparation for a character build video on my youtube channel and I got to the backgrounds and stuff that says; Skills: Ride x5, Throw x2, First Aid x2, etc... (see attached screenshot please) Thing is I can't find what the x# means... can someone help me with this please? I am confused, and clearly missed something, somewhere. metcalph
For every year of previous experience, you get +X percentiles in the skill. For Missile Weapon x4, you get 4 percentiles times the number of years in that occupation. 2

Where does it say that? I cant' find it in the rules :( 1 Quote =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Visit the Zenith Comics Patreon
NickMiddleton
RQ3 Players Book Page 26 Experience by Occupation, Cultural Skills, 2nd sentence: "The number gives the amount of percentiles which your adventurer gains in a skill by following that particular occupation for a full year (partial years spent in an occupation do not count."

These rules are great for PCs with varied backgrounds. For example, I used to determine all PCs started with 10 years of previous experience, and so PCs could have for example: 4 years experience as a warrior, 4 years experience as a hunter, and 2 years experience as a healer, which allows for a greater customization, more varied backgrounds and also informs about what every PC has been doing until the start of the campaign. If you wanted to create an Orlanthi farmer who has been in several battles, you could give her 7 years experience as a farmer and 3 as a warrior, f.ex. 3 Quote Read my Runeblog about RuneQuest and Glorantha at: http://elruneblog.blogspot.com.es/

One of my favorite character creation methods to this day. More involved, but so customizable. By the way, it can easily be implemented in RQG by dividing the occupations and cults bonus by 5 (+15% gives +3% per year).
