Grand Pavis Campaign Thoughts

This is primarily for @Ian A. Thomson and the creators of the magnificent Grand Pavis Campaign, but I wonder if other folks have had similar ideas to mine so I'm putting up in public.

I have some thoughts and suggestions as the Campaign reaches the halfway point, but I want to preface all of this by saying that a] I have thoroughly enjoyed every volume thus far, every chapter and every page; and b] and I hope to provide constructive critique.

I want to make it clear that I have a great deal of respect for the time and effort this has taken for the Cradle-full of volunteers and I'm one of your many fans.

However, comma, but...

As the volumes are developing and information is being produced on a 'as the campaign needs to know' basis, I'm wondering if it may become necessary to produce a last volume that presents whole project in one book. What I mean is final volume that presents the Grand Plan in summary, a Pavis Cult with all the variations, an omnibus about the Spirit Traditions, an index where everything can be found, etc. You guys have put A LOT detail in these books and I know that I have a bit of a hassle trying to find this or that bit of information over 6 volumes.

Something along the lines is definitely under consideration, but we don't want to repeat too much, so not exactly as you say

However, here's the ideas so far that I can recall:

1) You've seen the indexes available in the free bonus PDFs release that is part of the series? We plan to expand these and add more, so if you have suggestions for anything that would be great to include there that isn't a series spoiler, and isn't already there, please let me know. We are definitely planning to add other indexes. Such as uber indexes (searchable contents list combining all the page number guides from the start of each book) for the whole campaign when it's done, but of course could add that sooner now I think about it (and just update with each book) EG One for all locations, all scenarios... (We already have all Cults and all GMCs there)

2) The Rough Guide to Pavis City has some repetitions in because it also goes deeper into the cults of Pavis, Flintnail and some other things, but we are keeping that to a minimum so as not to replicate too much. But it also needs to be available as a stand-alone in case anyone just wants it for a Second Age sourcebook, so there are some repetitions

3) There is a separate Grand Plan document now written, though it will still be adjusted as we go, and this will be an article in the last book

Fire away with more specific suggestions as we are flexible with what we might produce, and potentially a short 'extra pdf' could be produced to combine some core material, but just not with any major spoilers in. Also, we would definitely consider adding further indexes to the free PDFs release sooner rather than later if anyone says they would be useful

So the Rough Guide to Pavis City is a Mongoose RQ Second Age book? It doesn't show on drivethru.

Rough Guide to Pavis City is a MASSIVE update of this, and will be released a few months into 2025 as Vol. 06A in the series

@g33k What indexes that are not already included with the free PDFs bundle would be most helpful to be in there?

I presume one is a combination of all the Contents Guides from all of the books so far? This is ready to be uploaded in the next few days along with a page reference guide to beings and places in the Big Rubble, and Pavis County

More index PDFs have been uploaded a couple of days ago to the free PDFs page on Drivethru :)

These include an expanded Master Contents List for all of the books so far. Like the Contents list you see at the front of each book, but each book's list extended to include page numbers for smaller elements that were missed off the original Lists for space reasons

Plus I just thought of another potentially useful one which I just finished

It may not be uploaded for a while because I'm working out if its possible to reduce the filesizes of all the PDFs, so will wait to send all these new files off to Mr Fabian at the same time
