Brian Duguid Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 I'm sure there will be more said about this soon, but for now: Video announcement and preview: Game details on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2366500/RuneQuest_Warlords/ 2 2 Quote -- The Winter King | An Unofficial Buyer's Guide to RuneQuest and Glorantha | The Voralans | The Children of Hykim
Beoferret Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) I will definitely buy this. Just 'cuz. That said, it looks very much like other games of the same variety. Talastar/Dorastor, broos, and evidence of Lunars and Ralzakark. Especially interesting that this is different than the game Black Shamrock Studios is working on. I do like the title. My big hope (which I'm sure I share with most of you): a) this game is at least moderately popular when it's released, and that b) it draws some new players to tabletop RQ. Final thought: Jeff said that there are going to be some RQ-related announcements in the next month or so (at least that's what I heard him say.) Wonder what they might be.... Edited December 10, 2024 by Beoferret Watched vid twice and reassessed my initial comment. 'Cuz it was wrong. 2 Quote
Nevun Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 My immediate impression is that this looks like any other RTS but with Runequest theming added on. But then all I've seen is the an announcement video. Hopefully it captures at least some of the essence of the wildness that is Glorantha. I'm totally buying it regardless. Quote

Imperial_Solaire Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I am a huge fan of 40k Battlesector so the idea of having a Runequest version of that game really excites me. I hope we see more soon! 1 Quote

Perdido Sangrenegra Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Is this computer game instead of the new cardboard edition of White Bear/Dragon Pass ? Or is it in addition? Quote

Or is it in addition? Neither. As Jeff mentions in the interview, this game covers Hahlgrim's War, the backdrop for the Reminiscences of Paulis Longvale during his youthful visit to Talastar, a region at least one width of the Dragon Pass map away from that area. It operates with smaller unit sizes, too - while Hahlgrim's war had one episode with two armies facing each other (and Bolthor acting like a heroic king, for a change), Paulis mentions a number of special ops episodes he only heard about.
