smiorgan Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Core Rulebook, p. 254 and GM's screen: Dex SR + magic points + boosting Starter Set, p. 35 and SR tracker: Dex SR+ magic points -1 + boosting I'm using the latter, mostly because it's written on the beautiful tracker where my players learned SRs in play. Is there a version that is considered more correct/ official? Not that I'm too worried about that. Just curious. Quote

So, the correct formula is : DEX SR + MPs -1 + boosting. 2 1 Quote Runequest Glorantha France Fan Discord.
radmonger Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Only the Quckstart rules use the simpler formula. Presumably it was changed for backwards compatibility with RQ2 supplements. Quote

Second printing corrections in Strike Ranks 6.1 How many Strike Ranks does it take to cast a Spirit Magic Spell? (pages 254 & 194) in the Q&A To determine the strike rank at which a spell can be cast, total the adventurer's DEX strike rank plus the magic points of the spell (minus the first), plus any boosting magic points. The sum equals the strike rank of the spell. 3 1 Quote
