Pavis & Big Rubble Series - Errata Page (for the PoDs)

Hi Folks

Starting work on a series Errata Page, which will also be available as a PDF in the free PDFs bundle

In all cases I think (except maybe Vol. 05) the PDF has continued to be updated once or twice with more corrections, so this Errata Page will be for the PoDs (with a few exceptions for things where there is no room to put extra details into the PDFs).

I'll also create that page here as well:

a) for easy access for people here since its not in any published form yet, and

b) as a request for assistance - If you've seen anything that is or may be an error and is not in this post, please let me know below

PoDs: We deliberately wait to release the PoDs for a while, and so most of the errors are already caught and fixed before the PoDs are created. Unfortunately not all of them, but most of the one's found after the PoD is released are minor. Partly this errata page is for owners of the PoDs, just to cover anything worth noting, as there are no plans for the PoDs to be replaced

VOL 01 - NEW PAVIS: CITY ON THE EDGE OF FOREVER

* TITLE MISMATCHES

On p15, the titles in the left hand column should read, in descending order: Zebraside, Zebra Stockade (the boxed info) & Badside. In the last update of the PDF they do, but sadly not in the PoD. A corrected version of this page is in the free handout PDFs:

* YELMALIO SPELLS

On page 124 in the Yelmalio cult are the spells Brighten Morale, Spear of Accuracy, Shield of Brilliance & Smite Darkness.

These are old references transferred from the original series, but not explained here.

For 'Brighten Morale' just use 'Morale' (RQG: p335); for 'Spear of Accuracy' just use 'Truespear', (RQG: p347); for 'Shield of Brilliance'  just use 'Lantern' (RQG: p263), but it has Rune Magic duration), Smite Darkness is also listed, and that spell is detailed in Vol. 02 (p86).

* YELORNA SPELLS

On page 125 the special rune magic spells Lighten Darkness & See in Darkness are mentioned, but not described.

Another old reference that was neglected to be expanded on.

However it was spotted in time to include their descriptions in the box about the Old Pavic Yelornans in the article on the Rubble Spirit Tradition in Vol. 02 (p75)

* MINOR ROOM NUMBERING MISTAKE

The p202 plan of the Pavis Temple in New Pavis has a slightly confusing numbering about Benderri's rooms. A corrected page is available with the free handouts.

VOL 02 - OLD PAVIS: THE CITY THAT TIME FORGOT

* MANSIDE CLANS MAP (p27)

The Yelorna Temple & the Menit Clan are for some odd reason swapped. A corrected version of the map is available in the free PDFs.

* NEW PAVIS SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS OFFICES

Error: Two Locations given

Volume 2, Page 150: The SIU have dusty and cramped top-floor offices up at F-29 in the Farmers’ Quarter of New Pavis. 

Volume 2, Page 235: They also maintain their own office in a small upper room of the Bristle Inn (although they frequently refer to their regular secluded booth in
the common room as 'the office'). [Location P-11]

Correction: Both locations have their advantages, but it seems very unlikely they would have two main offices. The Bristle Inn location is close to the Lhankor Mhy Knowledge Temple. The Farmer's Quarter location better fits the idea of a seedy film noir detective agency.

One could be historical. IE they started at the Bristle Inn and then became successful enough to move to their own place. Or it's simply a choice GMs can make depending on how successful they want them to be. Or the Bristle Inn is not their real offices, they just prefer to hang out there much more than their stuffy official office

Hello All,

DriveThru is showing updates for Pavis County, Old Pavis, and New Pavis, but dates have not changed. Anyone know if this is another DriveThru oddity, or is there something there?

Hi there

Fairly recently we added alternate versions with the covers and internal promos in the back pages all shrunk down. (This creates a significantly smaller PDF file size, which some people have asked for. It means that the covers are grainier images when you Zoom in, but was the only easy fix to create also alternate versions that were notably smaller size.) So there are now smaller versions of most of the book PDFs as well as the standard versions.

However, the content of these has not changed recently. If you are unsure, all of the PDFs now have version numbers inside the first pages, so you can download a copy from DTRPG and make sure that whatever copy you have is the most up to date

We are not planning to update further content in any of the first 2 PDFs again, and probably not the third either, but all of these had versions with some small corrections earlier this year, so yes, check the version numbers to be sure you are up to date

Vol. 01: Latest is Vsn 4 [Dec 2024]

Vol. 02: Latest is Vsn 3.2 (or 3.3 for compressed version) [Dec 2024]

Vol. 03: Latest is Vsn 1.5 (or 1.6 for the compressed version)

Vol. 04: Latest is Vsn 1.4

Vol. 04A: Vsn 1.5 (or 1.5A for the compressed version) *** NB: We just noticed a major formatting error in the non-compressed version we uploaded a month ago. This has been replaced (ten hours ago) with a version titled: Tentacles_Press_TheStrangersinPraxCompanion_16January2025 This is new corrected replacement and is noted inside as 'Version 1.5 (Jan 2025)' to differentiate it from the previous one with the formatting error. It also has one minor correction (something I spotted when fixing the formatting) and one promo image - and related text - updated at the end of the book. 

Vol. 05: Vsn 2 [Nov 2024] (This one does not have a compressed version as it was made a bit more compressed anyway, so the loss of image quality in compressing it further was not worth it for the small change. HOWEVER currently I can see two versions, although one has technically been deleted and so will no doubt vanish eventually. The one marked 30 Oct has the Garhound Contests adaptation notes for the old Hero Wars PDF version. The PDF now updated to Jan 2025 date has been changed so those adaptation notes instead refer to the original RQ3 Garhound Contests in the newly released Sun County book. (This Jan 2025 version is the last update to Vol. 05. There will be no more updates to any PDFs from Vols. 01-05.)

I am only 1/4 of the way through the 4th book. When will the POD be updated for the 5th book if not already, if I understood correctly?

As above, no new versions of PoDs as almost all big errors were corrected before they went to print

Coincidentally this morning just received a bunch of recommended corrections from proofer Gary for Vol. 05: Prax & the Zola Fel - Land of the Giants

Spent the whole morning editing them in and also checking for any other errors I could spot (and found a few)

So about 20 minor errors corrected in the PDF and a new version just sent to be queued for upload

Will post on the main series page as soon as that latest (and final) version of the Vol. 05 PDF is uploaded to Drivethru
