svensson Posted January 4 Posted January 4 So, this one just occurred to me and I can't find an answer in the books. If your Allied Spirit is an Elemental [dehori, undine, sylph, gnome] do you have to have a Binding Enchantment to 'carry' it about? Can you change the size of your Elementals with further sacrifice? 'Upgrade' your Ernalda Priestess' gnome from 'x' size to 'y' size by sacrificing POW for example? Quote
Jens Posted January 4 Posted January 4 You don’t need a binding enchantment (or crystal), but if you don’t have one your allied elemental will be a bit obvious as it hangs out and follows you on the material plane. Generally your cult will have a maximum size of elemental it can summon to use as a host for an allied spirit, and whatever size is initially summoned is how large it will stay. Of course in spirit of MGF you might allow a heroquest or other ritual to increase that size over time, but there’s nothing in the RAW that allows it. Same goes for getting help from an allied cult to summon a larger one than your cult could normally summon (a BG Axe Maiden asking an Ernaldan priestess to summon and large earth elemental rather than the small one BG could summon herself). 1 Quote

Have look at the Allying a Spirit page in the Q&A, there a section 1.6 allied spirit elementals. There's basically two types, depending on the source that will determine whether you get a storage item from the temple or need to supply one yourself. 20 hours ago, svensson said: Can you change the size of your Elementals with further sacrifice? No. 20 hours ago, svensson said: Upgrade' your Ernalda Priestess' gnome from 'x' size to 'y' size by sacrificing POW for example? No. Remember that the size of an elemental cannot be increased except by summoning a new one (casting a new spell). When you cast Summon Elemental of a specific size, you always get the same one. I'd likely allow an Ernaldan have a gargoyle if they paid the appropriate Rune points at the time of receiving an allied spirit, but not later (and then it's not an elemental anymore). Quote
