BRP Character Followers

You can have sidekicks, but that was perhaps not what you were looking for.

There are no rules for followers(that I'm aware of). I'm wondering, though..what attracts these followers?

Pure charismatic force? Social standing? The promise of treasure or some secret technique? Weekly paycheck?

Eh, that seems to do mostly with how well the characters deeds (or misdeeds) are known by the population of a kingdom. It doesnt relate directly to gaining henchmen or followers...

I think what would attract followes is a bit of each of those. A characters name becomes well known and others, with the same ideals, flock to his or her banner, hoping to ride the coat tails to greatness.

Hard to believe such a dangerous game doesn't have built in options for henchman /followers.

In Chess the pawns move first! Lol!

I'm working in rules for this in Classic Fantasy 2nd edition because I think it fits the subject matter. However to be honest I personally don't use them outside of D&D style games.

Well you have to go waaayyy back but old Glorantha-based RQ used to deal with followers somewhat. Basically Rune Level (think highly experienced with high standing in a church) characters were so important that they would have a retinue.
