I was making a sorcerer with the 'deluxe' SRD, and I can't figure out how to purchase/allocafe starting Rune spells. I've got the Runecasting skills, and I know .ca Sorcery spells are bought as separate advanced skills, but I can't seem to find information on how to get Rune spells as s starting character.

You are better off getting Legend (cheap as a PDF). That has a better character generation system and has better support for sorcery.

MRQ had a lot of holes regarding bolting magic onto chargen.

I actually have Legend and RuneQuest 6, I was just making the same character (roughly) in the different systems and comparing them.

So far my Stormbringer 1e Melnibonean Noble + Warrior + Sorcerer + Chaos Priest is the most powerful, though that's no surprise. Rich, too - 1800 LB cash, 830,000 LB in property, and 204 LB a month for being a priest. Not to mention full plate. My OpenQuest character could barely afford a sword!
