[Alephtar Games] Wind on the Steppes preorder

Recommended Posts

If you raid them on horseback and go back into the Steppes with the cheese and a few skulls to drink in, you're still in the topic of this thread :horse:

Picked up a copy of The Celestial Empire via the Chaosium sale.  I did not think to look for this as the title of this thread is about pre-order.  Now I see it is on the Chaosium site.  Sent an e-mail seeing if I could add it.  Fingers crossed.

Is the PDF still available?  I just checked and the PDF is no longer listed on DriveThruRPG.  A number of the other Alephtar books are also no longer available on Drive Thru.

If I understood well the situation, since Alephtar Games lost the BRP-license, they are not allowed to sell their BRP supplements anymore. Chaosium had some hard and pdf copies of Wind on the Steppes but I neither know if they have some left nor if they would sell them. I did not get answers to my questions, so you may directly ask them.

However, since it is a pitty that this supplement has been removed from all catalogues shortly after its release, I'm envisaging a reedition with another set of D100 rules.

Most of it this supplement is pure content, so I wouldn't think it would be a big issue to rejigger the stat blocks for Revolution D100, although I suspect most of the hassle will be regarding the reprinting process itself rather than game mechanics. I'm glad I grabbed it when it first came out, it has some great information in it.

Of course the BRP mechanics used in WotS could be used almost as they are and the stats block easily converted, but if I want to make it a true Revolution D100 supplement, I shall use the principles of this set of rules (I'm especialy thinking of shamanism). The Devil lays in details, as the German say. This requires more work as it seemed at first. I'd have been glad to avoid this reworking and to go ahead with the BRP, but on the other hand, this is an interesting work.
