Lots of empty Unicorn riders, Zebra riders and Pol Joni, is that because they are outsiders?

Yes, their peoples did not all come from the Wastelands - Unicorn Riders - everywhere!, Zebra Riders were originally PHP and the Pol Joni were created from Sartarites and Praxians (and some others).

I've always though the Bolo Lizard riders were descendants of the original inhabitants of the Wastes and would therefore have the Earth Rune. They do in my game anyways.

You make a good point. I've just reviewed the current writeup for them and noticed that their founder was unlikely to be Storm Bull and likely Tada, with Eiritha as his wife. So the refigured spread is same as the Rhino Riders: Air M/F 10/2, Earth M/F 86/94, the others including Moon at 1%

I am not sure that rhinos, even Praxian rhinos are really evolved for burrowing behavior.  I would suggest that using gnomes to dig pits and disguise them is an alternative method of ambush, assuming that the earth rune isn't primarily used for keeping people and animals fed.

What? They even have a burrowing tool right there on their heads - Just bend down, move your head left and right, move forward and continue. Perfect.

One of the Praxian Rhinos' main sources of food apart from Rhino grass is the rock yam or earth nuts as some folk call them. Found in abundance around the Rhino Rocklands.

Dug out of the ground with their digging horns.

The yams hard skin are used to make cups and bowls and its flesh roasted.

No. He gives nothing in return for worship. Some of his parts are still around, but the God himself is gone. The title Tada, still exists, reserved for those khans that have taken part in the the Basmoli rites.

Just reading Cults of Prax. It says that every Praxian can be said to be a member of Eiritha as a Lay member. This makes sense, but then the prohibited magic is quite extensive and would prevent one being a successful warrior or hunter for example. Personally I'd ignore that bit, but what do other folk think?

Prohibited: Bladesharp, Bludgeon, Disruption, Fanaticism, Fireblade, Fire Arrow, Iron Hand, Multimissile, Speedart.

Restricted (2x normal): all non-axe weapons skills and all knowledge skills.

I would suggest boys leave the cult at the moment of initiation into waha or other cults. Its the cult of women and children.

I thought that you didn't have to abide by those prohibitions as a Lay member... only Initiate and above do so.  Am I misremembering?  After all, Biturian kept Lay-Membering through much of Prax...  Did he actually abide by ALL those restrictions, of ALL those cults?

But up until that they must follow the Eirithan restrictions. Plus old school Waha initiations were early 20's.

Contradicts the Waha no healing too.

This doesn't happen in my game, was just wondering  how i never saw this before.

Maybe everything in 2nd edition wasn't perfectly thought through and without error.

Shock horror.

id play at the point of adulthood they become initiates of males cults, and those restriction apply, up until then boys are treated as women.

but i would have a younger initiation than early 20's

You don't teach warrior spells to children.

Among the peoples of Prax it is assumed that all people are Lay members of the cult if they live with the tribe, for each person benefits from the goddess' gifts and worships her for it.

Under the lay member rules, you can become a permanent lay member by fulfilling certain obligations, otherwise it's temporary with the person paying a price every time to participate in ceremonies as a lay member. Clearly Waha members will fail to become permanent lay members as they likely have forbidden spells, etc, but are admitted to ceremonies as they are an associate cult, fulfilling the requirement:

Or they may perform some service, make a special gift, or otherwise satisfy the priestess presiding and show that they arc sincere and friendly

I don't think it's complicated.

This is the common-sense solution...  But it does explicitly violate the RAW, if one is being persnickity about it.

I don't think so. Reading the lay member section in the sample cult on page 6:

Quote

Lay Members are required to join a cult each time that they attend its services, unless they already belong.

They can't belong as they'd violate the spell prohibitions.

That's like saying a Protestant has to convert if he/she wants to attend Mass.  I would think Eiritha would be slightly more inclusive of worshippers from associated cults.  Of course, casting prohibited spells during services would be viewed as a breach and dealt with as such.  You don't walk in and start splashing the holy water.
