It's only the actual words in the specific order chosen by the author/editor/publisher, specifically expressing the rules, that are (c)'able. Any paraphrase may be freely made -- even offered for sale! Discussion on a forum is probably sufficiently fair-use that even direct quotation is probably protected... So, talk freely! I know I have the legal right to do so, I'd just rather not, as it was one of the few things specifically left out as the largely complete free version.
Mankcam
Well I guess it is a grey area, as legal frameworks greatly vary around the world in any case. However I try to be mindful of not revealing everything regarding published material. It's quite tricky at times, given the organic and creative nature of our conversations here, and I try to do this more out of respect to the authors rather than any potential legal complications. Archivist
I'm happy to buy a book if the book has the mechanic! Just briefly describe it and I'll take a look.

Savage Worlds and Chronicles of Darkness both do and they're pretty fun. Revolution is basically built around the extended contest rules. But the SRD is not yet mature enough to go public. Things are being gradually changed as we playtest. 1 Quote Proud member of the Evil CompetitionTM
