Stormbringer! - A website supporting Stormbringer 5th edition

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

My name is Marcus Bone, and I've recently started a website called Stormbringer! (see Stormbringer! - Supporting the Stormbringer RPG) dedicated to Stormbringer 5th edition (and ELRIC!, the game's previous incarnation).

My aim to support this game system, which I think was fantastic, even though Chaosium has now transferred the rights to Mongoose Publishing. There's not much up on the site at the moment, but it will build over time (I have plenty awaiting formatting and art etc.)

Comments, feedback and general chatter is always welcome.

Regards,

Marcus Bone (stormbringerrpg@gmail.com)

P.S. I have moved to obtain permissions from all three parties involved (Monngoose, Chaosium and Michael Moorcock) for this site and have received 2 replies so far (positive), awaiting the third.

Excellent idea. I love 5th edition SB too. Its the highlight of all BRP versions IMO. But I hope there is no problem with using artwork from the book on your site.

Its looking good Binder. Nice layout and starting to take shape. Keep up the good work. :thumb:

Looking forward to some of those out of print Stormbringer Chaosium supp's you've got permission to load up there. :D

Cheers

I'll pore through my files and see if there's anything suitable for submitting to the site.

Hey Jason,

Anything SB you might have would be great to have on the site. I always thought it was a shame that the 'reboot' (i.e. SB5) of the game sort of died before it had a chance to take off and your 'Slaves of Fate' was the only real support.

BTW, I should ask - would you be interested in being interviewed for the site? Just a look at your SB work and anything else you might want to 'pimp'...

Yeah, it was a crying shame the SB5 edition died so rapidly, but Slaves of Fate was actually support for Dragon Lords of Melnibone.

Sure I could do an interview. I now have oceans of time on my hands.

Elric! or SB5 is in my opinion the best version of BRP. In fact it is part of the reason I am not leaping to buy the new BRP book.

Having missed my September update window (due to my youngest being rushed to hospital), I'm happy to say that there is now a series of new articles available up on Stormbringer! - Supporting the Stormbringer RPG.

In this month's update we have:

- Calisander - a SB 5th edition adventure set in Old Hrolmar (complete with specifically commissioned art!)

- A Brief Guide to Old Hrolmar - a 'cut down' version of Richard Watt's monograph of the same name.

- Alternate Magics - an article by Andrea Rocci on adding a little more chaos to magic and summoning in SB.

Thanks to all those who have contacted me in the past few months, and yes there are still plans to upload the various SB monographs. When? When I get a chance!

Marcus

I haven't played Stormbringer since the original edition, although I have a whole bunch of inherited 5th edition books sitting on my shelf. It's good to see the game getting some web support.

Games don't die as long as there are places like this. :thumb:

Marcus,

hope everything is OK with the youngest now!

Great to see Old Hrolmar and Calisander available again - I have fond memories of play testing Calisander for Richard. Have only skimmed Andrea's article, but looks good to - especially for the way it addresses stuff like necromancy for those without access to the Bronze Grimoire.

I look forward to more updates, and will ahve another rummage through my hard drive... :D

Marcus,

Thanks for taking the time to support this great game! SB was my intro BRP and I have fond memories of the wonderful world. I wish that I had a group together, I miss playing Stormbringer. When I get back to the States, I am going to start a SB campaign...and now I can use your site for the basics of campaign building.

Thanks

-STS

*cough, cough*

Hi All,

Unfortunately while SBRPG.com hasn't been high on my radar recently... I do have a couple of things in the pipeline - GoL being one of them.

No breath holding, but it will appear - honest!

Marcus
