MOB

Recommended Posts

Today we have released an updated PDF of the RuneQuest Core Rules, the RuneQuest Bestiary, and the Adventures Book and Resources Book from the Gamemaster Screen Pack. This incorporates any corrections made based on the previous "tribal edit" thread.

These updated PDFs are available to download from your Chaosium account or your DTRPG account.

This is a new thread to catch any typos or errors spotted in the RuneQuest Bestiary. Please note them here, quoting the page number, the error, and the suggested correction.

PLEASE ONLY USE THE PDF OF 11 OCTOBER 2018 AS THE REVIEW DOCUMENT

There are separate correction threads for the updated PDFs of the RQG Core Rules and GM Screen Pack.

Any approved corrections will go into subsequent updates of the PDFs and printing of the books.

nb If you have any general questions about the RuneQuest rules, ask Jason here: https://basicroleplaying.org/topic/8399-runequest-core-rules-questions

Many thanks.

Manticore hit points per location differ from the chart on page 10.

Page 10 lists them along with dragons, having wings. Page 34 does not list wing locations, so I assume page 10 is incorrect and the do not have wings.

Good catch as the bug has been here since RQ2!

Baboons have inconsistent HP per location compared to the chart on Page 10, assuming they use Humanoid, if not then they do not match any of the charts and so should have their own added, or a note on page 29 saying that this chart is specific to them.

Page 10 says /5 /5 /5 /6 /4 /4 /5 for 13-15 HP

Page 29 says /3 /3 /5 /5 /3 /3 /4 for 11 HP

Normally it's small cap darkness elemental, except:

Page 197 combination darkness elemental/dryad, with all the abilities of both.

Similarly for earth elemental:

Move 'POW' so it aligns with the numbers beneath. May be also move across the second D100 column to the right to make things more obvious.

Do you mean:

Insanity; ...is cured either by Cure Disease ability or Cure All Disease spell,.... (As per the Shamanic ability on page 360 of the Core rules)

Or

Insanity; ...is cured either by Treat Disease skill or Cure All Disease spell,.... (as page 182 of the Core rules)

I might be missing something here.

195+200=395, averaged is 197.5, which rounds up to 198.

200+205=405, averaged is 202.5, which rounds up to 203.

Are you objecting to the rounding up of fractions? Or picking an average value within the range?

Thanks, all!

Printers hate it when we switch out too many pages, and it creates the margin of error, so we've at this point triaged edits into "edits we absolutely have to make" and "glitches we can cover in an errata sheet."

Anything coming in beyond this is grist for an errata page, but the print edit window is officially closed.
