Why can't I just modify them all without worrying about a pool of 50 points to play with? It seems redundant. So you should be able to set half of your form runes and all of your elements to 100 with no limit? Seems a bit OP to me.

Scout
This doesn't make sense to me: Page 52: "If the characteristic concerned has an addition, such as 2D6+6, the remaining addition is considered as one die. Thus, a characteristic of 3D6+3 has a species maximum of 21+4, or 25." How do you get 25 and where does the +4 come from? If the addition is considered one die, isn't that 27? 3d6 = 4d6 (+3) =

You add +1 for each die in the calculation, so 3d6 gets +3 and the +3 part gets +1, so +4 in total, maximum of 3d6+3 is 21, 21+4 = 25. So, 3d6+12 gets +3 for the 3d6 and +1 for the +12, giving a species maximum of 34. There is some confusion, as the RQ3 rule of Max Rollable + Min Rollable is also used, but I think this is an error. With this rule, you get 3d6+3 having a species max of 21+6=27 and 3D6+12 having a species max of 30+15=45. 1 Quote Simon Phipp - Caldmore Chameleon - Wallowing in my elitism since 1982. Is this true and do we have an ETA? Yes, the PDF is already out! https://www.chaosium.com/runequest-gamemaster-screen-pack-pdf/ As is usual you get the PDF for free, as the cost is offset against the print copy. There is no date as yet for the print version, other than soon, IIRC it's gone to print. 2 hours ago, Scout said: I am looking to GM a campaign set in Glorantha for the very first time and so after I run The Broken Tower I'll be looking for other adventures. I'm not very good at making my own because I seem to have developed a mental block that's lasted forever. This is likely what you are looking for: Quote Included with the screen is a full-color, 128-page Adventures Book. The first half of this book is a description of the Colymar tribal lands, led by Queen Leika Blackspear, detailing the fortress city of Clearwine and its important denizens. Nearby is Apple Lane, a small village beset with huge problems. Its residents and surroundings are described in detail, making it a perfect location for gamemasters to base RuneQuest campaigns in, establishing the adventurers in a renowned yet manageable hamlet with ample opportunity for great adventure. The latter half of the Adventures Book includes three ready-to-play scenarios set in Apple Lane and lands nearby. The first adventure, Defending Apple Lane, pits the adventurers against a savage band of fearsome raiders. Cattle Raid, the second adventure, sends the adventurers to protect a sacred herd of cattle, a seemingly simple task that grows all-too-complex when tribal politics come into play. The last of these adventures, The Dragon of the Thunder Hills, involves dragon magic and old ghosts. Finally, a four-page group of rumors gives ample grist for potential adventure inspiration, and two pages of adventure seeds are ready to be fleshed out into full adventures or run as interesting interludes. 1 Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. No Gringle's Pawn shop hasn't been converted, but the original RQ2 version is easily usable with RQG. The Rainbow Mounds is also being updated for future publication. If you want the original, there is the classic version is available in PDF: https://www.chaosium.com/apple-lane-pdf/ The new version moves the timeline forward with the original occupants: eg. Brightflower, daughter of Bulster the Brewer, was 13 in the original, she's now 34 and has taken over from her parents: 1 Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. In fact, you can raise your initial Power or Form runes above their initial value, whatever the value (50 if nothing done, or 75 if raised the step before). Literally, I read it as 'No', but frankly, if I were a GM, I would not see any reason to say 'No': If the player wants to be a narrow area specialist, let him be. The intent is that you apply +25% to 4 distinct skills and +10% to 5 other distinct skills. You don't double up the skills. If the intent was to be additive it would likely have said to distribute 150 percentile points across your skills. 2

Scout
If I buy the hard copies from the Chaosium website (or leisuregames.co.uk), where does the complimentary pdf come from, is it drivethru? Hoping so because as pdfs are updated you can download the latest version. EDIT: Also, if I buy Apple Lane and Snake Pipe Hollow, will they be easy to convert from RQ2 to RQG? Ok, so it sounds like one can add +25% to a skill (e.g. Broadsword) and then another +10% to that same skill. Thanks for clarifying that as with the "more" I interpreted as five "other" or "different" skills.

Scout
Thanks all for the advice. About the pdfs, what I mean is, will I be able to redownload it in future when it gets updated. If it's from drivethru or Chaosium, it looks like I can 👍 As an aside, I only just learned I've been pronouncing Chaosium wrong for about 30 years I used to pronounce it similar to Coliseum. Yes, it's easy to convert. There's a conversion guide in the RQG rulebook, p.423 (also available as a free download from the website).
