Chaosium launches Twitch TV Channel - starts with Call of Cthulhu

Recommended Posts

The Chaosium Twitch TV Channel is about to launch!

Chaosium's digital content producer Jamie Coquillat is leading the Twitch initiative. He said, "Our aim here is not only to promote Chaosium games and build up our content library, but also to engage with the Twitch and Youtube communities, and to reach new players - especially younger players who make video platforms their home. Each time we Stream, we will be uploading the stream, and a "best of" recut, to Youtube. We're beginning with a session of Horror on the Orient Express. Thank you to all those involved. Roll sanity, and let's go!"

Tune in to https://www.twitch.tv/chaosiuminc next weekend for our first stream, a Call of Cthulhu live play game with Allan Carey (the master prop maker from TYPE 40) and his group of skilled investigators.

Screening time on Twitch:

  • US West Coast - Saturday, Jan 12 at 11pm PST
  • UK - Sunday, Jan 13 at 7.00am GMT
  • Eastern Australia - Sunday Jan 13 at 6.00pm EADT

Awesome effort tonight on Twitch TV by the intrepid investigators from TYPE 40, Keeper Allan, and our digital content producer Jamie. And thanks to everyone who tuned in to watch the inaugural stream on Chaosium Twitch, which will be the first of many!

Is there a way to watch these if you miss them LIVE?

Go to https://www.twitch.tv/chaosiuminc/videos and click on a video. Seems to work, but the Call of Cthulhu video isn't there.

Tried https://www.twitch.tv/chaosiuminc/clips?filter=clips&range=all and there are some CoC clips, but not the whole video. Seems to be a clip of people playing the CoC video game. I sort-of expected some kind of CoC LARP from the photos.

Yes I'd like that very much as well! Many Twitch channels record their games and make them available later, either on Twitch itself or on YouTube.

In the first post they promised to upload them to YouTube.

In this tweet someone said it shouldn't take too long: https://twitter.com/the_tardis_guy/status/1086837135561220098

That would certainly be handy, since I can pull the audio from YouTube (I'm still baffled as to why these inherently verbal games are increasingly being put out on visual media instead of as podcasts).

Good to see new projects like this appear, even if I'll almost certainly never see an episode, but it's a shame that an equivalent or resurrection of Tales of Mythic Adventure hasn't materialised instead.
