I said someone will take a chance on a Magic World license, turns out that someone is me.

I am happy and nervous as heck.

I realize I did not specify in the announcement, but it is a single setting book for use with MW.

Well this is unexpectedly good news for MW: look forward to seeing it!

It has been something we have been working on for a while and the time was right. It was difficult being in forum discussions and not being able to say anything over the last few days.

This is great. Now that I finally own Magic World, I'm pretty impressed with it - and I love all of those little snippets from Rain Dragon Press, so I'm really looking forward to a full setting!

Thank you for the kind words. I have plenty of ideas but now bringing them home is the challenge.

All right brother! Put me down for a copy!

Looking forward to seeing what you're doing with Alchemy.

I hope folks will like it, we are taking a deep dive into creating an actual magical language that is easy to use mechanically, works with the existing sorcery spells and any new spells we create, and of course works with Alchemy or "The New Magic".

Good Luck. Maybe your book could lead to a Magic World revival?

Well with the support of the community, who knows what can happen? I certainly will not complain if ABaB leads to more interest in MW. How that translates into the future, no one knows.

Probably a novice question but what do you mean by a magic language? Maybe something like the Rune system in Loz's Elric of Melnibone book?

Check out our homebrew rules for freeform magic in BRP ->

No reason for Ars Magica players to have all the fun!

I don't know that I have seen (or don't remember) the Rune system. However,  the person working on it is a language nerd and she is creating base characters, proper syntax, and good "Words". It will be symbols that represent ideas. and a few characteristics that I do not want to spoil :). My job will be to make sure it works with the system. Suffice to say if players and GMs want to deep dive into it, you will be able too or if you don't you won't have to.
