Since the last list was posted I've added a dozen or so cults, including Ygg, Voria, Yelorna, Horned Man, Barntar, and others.

Nice more gods and goddesses is always good.

I hope Wachaza and Triolina make it in. That would the all major Water gods done in one go.

As much as I would love to see Subere in there I could also see her being in the future Trollpacks.

Any chance we'll see an official write-up of the Cult of the Tiger?

This was first introduced in the Aug/September 1980 issue of Different Worlds magazine for those who don't know. That issue was my first intro to rpg's and has a really evocative piece of cover art (in my opinion.)

I haven't read that magazine but if it's a Hsunchen animal/beast cult it should mostly be covered by Hykimh and Mykih.

It was more of a RQ Gateway cult writeup for the Tiger Sons which is why it did not get included in the Glorantha Classics Cult Compendium (same for some of the other odd cults like Indlas Somer).

Excellent - Barntar might not be a huge deal much of the time, but with the Lunar occupation took on a much larger role.

Horned Man seems really important, and using him as a template for lots of shamanistic cults (like Kolat) appears like a good move.

Really curious about how Land Goddesses (like Dorasta) will be represented in the new RuneQuest. They always seemed like "like Ernalda, except far less useful". Subcults might make sense?

  • Deities that can be better handled as masks or variant names of other deities, e.g., Elmal, Buserian, etc.

Even though variant/mask cults share many things with their main cults,

their cult compatibility tables are not same, I think.

So, GoG will have some guidance in order to adjust its CC for variants, maybe?

At the rate you're adding new cults, we aren't going to get the book until the next edition of RQ comes out! :P

Nah, I am done. But while adding the Starting As An Initiate of XXXX sections for each cult, I managed to unblock what I wanted to write about Yara Aranis. It also brings us to 100 cults and spirit cults.

<snark> Nah, still going to be only two, but they are going to be the size of The Guide now</snark>

At least three would look mighty smart together. Suddenly the ghost of Eliade's 16-book Encyclopedia of Religion skittered across one of the back shelves and the shelf fell down.

100 is a good number!

Wonder how many volumes it will be if we get the cults of The East, The West and The South, too!

Synch. Glorantha metaresearch has me dipping into Eliade again currently.

As I see it, the major cults not appearing in this book are:

  • Triolina (I really need to think far more about the Triolini before I tackle this cult)
  • Godunya (already appearing in another book)
  • Pamalt (will need to wait until I get to the South)
  • Ompalam (see above)
  • Seseine (see above)
  • Invisible God (gets its own book)
  • Arkat (needs Invisible God)
  • Wachaza (needs to wait - his cult is right now confined largely to the Wachaza)

There are numerous minor cults that will appear elsewhere - Pavis, Zola Fel, etc. They are purely local entities.

Very impressive. But I cannot go to Gencon...

I hope there will be a preorder preview version like Shards of the Broken Sky of Pelgrane press(another 5 years-waiting book).

Cool! So, Kolat is now getting his own entry!?!

Will Elmal get a nice subsection?

Last question (for this post 😛 ) - how many pages for each entry?  (On average)

Hmmm.

There's a new TrollPack product coming... do we expect to see additional Divine Uz content there?  Reprinting of GaGoG content?  TrollPack to include lots of "see GaGoG" xref's?  Or...?
