Gotham
New to CoC and running it solo. An event happens to a character, is there a roll for them to check to see if what is happening is real or an illusion ?
mvincent
Do you mean a SAN roll for a "Reality Check"? (7e p.162) Edited June 21, 2019 by mvincent
Gotham
mvincent - many thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. Please excuse someone (very) new to Coc. Still working my way thru the rules as I play (solo). I knew someone out there would have the answerl
EricW
A lot of stuff which should probably be hidden. So for example, if you tell the player to make a spot hidden, the other players will want to make spot hiddens as well. This might fit in the scenario, if you want players to find something, but if you make mysterious dice rolls, look at their character sheet then roll, they won't know WTF is happening - they'll be completely paranoid, worried something is sneaking up on them, IMO a reasonable state of mind for someone who has encountered something worrying while wandering around a Cthulhu scenario 😉
