I caratteri sono piuttosto piccoli in BR:UGE, soprattutto nelle tabelle. Ma ci sono molte informazioni da inserire.

Disclaimer: ho bisogno di usare gli occhiali in questi giorni ๐Ÿค“

...they were also in the BGB, but they were readable there ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

I bought the Basic Roleplaying UGE book both in pdf and in paper version, but in the latter I have great difficulty reading it, it's written too small... For me it's really unusable ๐Ÿ˜ž and it's a very sad thing.ย
Let me start by saying that I don't have problems with glasses, I read all my other game manuals until I wear them out.

The QUESTION is: do you think there is a way to print it for me (e.g. lulu.com or something else if you know) at a SLIGHTLY larger size?
I'm not talking about the fonts, I mean the larger size of the pages.

    Thanks for any help!

It's no longer hosted on this site. It was removed as it contained copyright images.

yes of course, I read this in other posts and it is clear.
I just wanted to understand if those who had used it when it existed knew the differences, if there were any.
If it's not a good idea to talk about it then I'll drop the topic.

  4. Once upon a time the Big Damn Book was around and I remember that I had seen two versions of it, one was a single book of over 400 pages, and another was instead two books of about 150 pages each (called vol 1 and vol 2).
What was the difference between the two versions? Which was the definitive one (if there was a more 'official' one)?

  5. I adopted as my classic style role-playing game Classic Fantasy, the BRP monograph which unfortunately (I curse the gods for this) did not have a sequel.
I'm also translating everything into Italian for my more practical use.
In the manual we talk about an optional rule called "Noise" (which manages it).
Does anyone know how it was handled?
and (I try) no one has even a working copy of the mythological "Classic Fantasy Vol. II: Gamemastery"

PS=Don't tell me to use Classic Fantasy Mythras, because I have it, but I don't like it!

    Simple..
    I didn't convert!
I then decided to use Classic Fantasy which is already a sort of conversion/adaptation of AD&D 2nd edition (which I like) instead of BX/Becmi.
Also because we still set the game in Mystara, but the NPCs will be "converted" (if necessary) using the most famous system possible: common sense! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. Update
We've been playing Mystara for a few months now, using Classic Fantasy (the yellow one, not the Mythras one) and we're having a lot of fun..
    Everything goes smoothly.
The only thing is the fights, because with the possibility of parrying/dodging sometimes killing a monster with 10 hit points becomes a bit long (but not too long).
But it's beautiful like this and we like it!
We use hit point tracking along with the "total hit points" option, the PCs have a lot of HP and seem invincible, but the possibility of being seriously injured or incapacitated adds tension to the game (without too much mortality that would make them too scared)
BRP is always better, no matter what you play with it... love!

  8. In the meantime, thank you all...
I'm "only" interested in understanding how to report the difference in power (level) between an NPC and the characters.
For example to give the right difference in power in case my newly created characters meet a 5th level NPC.
I use CLASSIC FANTASY and a new character have 240 points to allocate to abilities, how many points does a 5th level NPC have?

La stregoneria nelle storie di Conan sembra molto simile agli incantesimi de Il Richiamo di Cthulhu. Se facessi un adattamento fedele, userei quel sistema magico.

I'm doing exactly this in my Conan/Hyborian campaign:
    System: BRP roleplaying
Magic: Grand Grimoire of Cthulhu Magic (accessible to all characters, not just "sorcerers/priests")
Corruption (instead of Sanity): breakpoint like Delta Green, when broken adds a curse/mutation. Corruption can be reduced by doing things in contrast with it (altruism, contrast/combat evil/demons, etc...)
Bestiary: BRP roleplaying + Malleus Mostrorum (CoC)

  10. Dear friend, good 2023.
This is my first post on forum (I'm just a "shadow"-user ๐Ÿ™‚ ).

Can I have your suggestion to converting BECMI or B/X Dungeons & Dragons to BRP?
I find in "Classic Fantasy" a very good system to play it, but I'll like convert module and PNG to old setting (I LOVE Mystara).
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

I wrote one of the BRP conversions. It's the one entitledย "Lord of the Rings RPG Basic Roleplay Crossover Rules" (imaginative title, eh?). When I uploaded the PDF, there was already a Middle Earth category, so I placed it there.

    Colin

I can't find it now! Can you help me? ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Thanks
