I am very late to this party, but I'm about to run The Derelict (I'm re-skinning it slightly for the late 1980s instead of modern day, and kicking off with an 80s soundtrack led by 'Rio') and this has been a helpful post.
I thought the pre-gen party animal characters were interesting. The minor mythos experience of some is touch that seems to go nowhere, but I guess it helps add a bit of character/lets them discuss spooky stuff as they explore.
I thought it interesting that Elisabeth Hill is described as 'stunningly beautiful', yet her APP is 60. That's pretty, at best. The player and I discussed this, and he noted that her 'dance' ability is also only 25, even though that's what she claimed to want to do. We decided this meant she's a bit of a narcissist with delusions of grandeur and possibly a victimhood complex ('nobody understands me; it's not easy being this gorgeous and so talented'). It will hopefully add spice to her relationship with her minder, Dennis.
I'm also not entirely sure why the diver/athlete thinks Dennis is an Irish thug. He's Irish himself, and Dennis appears in no way whatsoever to be Irish in his background.
