  1. This OQ edition of Ki Khanga does not diverge significantly ruleswise from OQ second edition. A lot of the creatures are quite unimaginatively OQ creatures given africanised names. Unicorns are called woshins, etc. But there are a few weirder creatures like the Oga'koi'koi, and impundulu. Where it does diverge in the rules it has only a points build system for PCs, and rules for utilising both herbs and gemstones for their effects/powers. Obviously the greatest divergence from OQ is the precolonial fantasy Africa setting, which mixes real places and fictional ones. If anyone is planning on buying it, you may be interested that there is Ki Khanga:The Anthology which has short tales in it that help with the style and adventures in the setting.

  2. This looks like it would be good to emulate a superagents type game. I will use some of the stuff to add to the Mythras Destined game I am slowly planning on running.

  3. Thanks for your reply. I was interested in Strike Force 7 as the superagent genre is easily added to such games as Destined, the Mythras superhero setting. Since MRQ stuff is compatable with that system.

  4. Merry England had domething to say about sieges, which was an important part of medieval warfare mostly left out of consideration in rpgs. Dysentry among the ranks laying siege would effectively weaken the forces, and possibly bring a swift end to the siege. Also, besiegers would have to make sure their supply lines for food were open, or try to source it locally. Which brings the possibility of the besiegers running out of food as they deplete local stocks.

  5. I recently read online that there was a supplement or rpg published called Strike Force 7, that used the Mongoose RQ rules, that emulated a kind of GI Joe setting. I can see  versions for D20 and Savage Worlds being sold but no MRQ version. Does anyone know what happened to that version?

  6. Am I correct that there is no official setting for Simplequest? Also, are there various types of demons in the beastiary section? If there are how would a character summon them, since there are no magic points being used?
