Winston Churchill isn't noted for his tactical successes.  Elizabeth I couldn't fight a lick.

But they both had CHA 21 and Orate 110%. That counts for a lot.

I for one would be delighted to assist co-ordinate (or helm) a fan-created re-release of these three stories (well, the Coders and Arlaten) for no financial remuneration

Plot spoilers for Arlaten the Magus storyline:

    Spoiler

The premise of the Arlaten storyline requires the adventurers to make themselves social pariahs by entering the service of a godless meldek for an extended period.

It's an uncomfortable enough situation in RQ3, but in RQ:G, this is effectively negating all their Loyalty (Clan/Tribe), Love (Family) and Devotion (Deity) passions. That's a lot bridges to burn!

In view of the amount of pressure this would place on the beliefs and attitudes of an adventurer from a theistic or shamanistic culture (the vast majority of PCs!), I'm not certain how a writer could make this scenario work in the current version.

This is Raveena the Mercenary - she might have been young, gorgeous, and wholesome back when she was a young woman who flocked to Starbrow's Rebellion in 1613, but since then, she has become hard, cynical, and ruthless.

Hope she doesn't want her dad's old job back. Apple Lane isn't a Solar theocracy, you don't get to be thane just because your dad had the gig.

  4. Not a rules question, but I heard Jeff Richard mention the Xeno Gang and how Greg Stafford would be sure to have a couple of drinks before role-playing the gorilla, just to make sure his reactions were authentic.

Now, I know of the Xeno Gang, I'm sure I've seen them statted up, but I can't for the life of me recall where. Can anyone tell me where I can find the Gang? I'd love to set them on my players! 😆

UPDATE: Found them, but not where I expected - RQ3 monster book featured a vignette by Lisa Free of the Xeno Gang!

here's also an australian film called Ten Canoes, it's one of my favourite films because just watching feels like entering a myth realm. No magic, just cool story structure. It was floating on youtube for a while.

"If you're just going to talk, why are you taking your spear?"

With the Guide, we finally had access to the art resources we have wanted. I'd consider the art from the Guide on pretty definitive.

I'm hoping for some of Andrey Fetisov's excellent adventurer illustrations to be rendered as 28mm figures, myself.

As far as I'm concerned, he's nailed the Bronze Age influences (both Mediterranean and Central European) perfectly, while adding some truly amazing Gloranthan colour to the mix.

  7. Ave atque vale, Greg; Glorantha is the most enduring and iconic game setting out there, and will continue to be so.

I've been visiting Glorantha for over 35 years now, but I am still delighted by the ability of your world to surprise and enthrall.

Your legacy is in good hands.

  8. He retired into his underground tomb at the end of the Second Age and it is prophesized that one day he will return from his tomb to punish the enemies of his people.

"Lord Jonat, hear our prayer! Our enemies are laying waste to our lands! Come forth with Crown and Sword and defend your Folk!'

(muffled voice from inside tomb) "Grrr... mmmph...  I'll be up soon... just five more years..."

    "We have honey..."

(Tomb door flies open) "I'M UP!"

    Works every time.
