Ok what happened here with this thread and it's replys? Did someone get stuck in the BUTT with a EVIL toxin or what<g>? Guys this is a great site for all to exchange ideas and advance the BRP system, plus learn or share a little with one another. It takes all kinds to make a hobby fun and expand it. Lets do it in a civil and friendly way.

Anything for space is never a waste of money. Every time we do anything in space we learn something new and each and everytime our knowledge increases in the technology lines as well as pure knowledge of the universe increases. how can someone not see the value of that? Even joking about it is counter productive and sad. The ture path to becoming and remaining a world leader in technolony is to continue and step up our space program and actually return to the Moon and land on Mars and go beyond to the other planets in our solar system. Those that get there first will learn more and gain the knowledge that we should have and have laid the ground work for others to gain benefit of. Why shouldn't it be the US, it has been us for years doing it all. I say stop paying to defend the world, and have the rest of the world pay off their bills to this country for defending them and us coming to their aid and spend the money to bravely go where man has not yet gone before.!

Actually that is pretty interesting when one thinks about it, makes you wonder what else is out there and unknown on our own planet.

So most of all this stuff is now out of print? So what version of the game is it...Stormbringer or Elric, and by whom?
Penn
For Fantasy, I would add, Elric!, Darcsyde's Corum, Gods of Law and Bronze Grimoire.Elric! is nice and pulpy with the bonus of a Demon Summoning System. BRP Sorcery is based on this system. Corum adds Lawful Constructs, Chaotic Melds, Elemental Tattoos, Fetishes, some other stuff, and fixes any problems that I have with Elric! summoning. Gods of Law add a Virtues system in which the character embodies the attributes of a sort of 'Patron Saint.' It also has specialty skills and Minion rules. Bronze Grimoire expands on the Sorcery system presented in Elric!.
Additionally, I would look at the Gloranthan Classics. I feel Cults Compendium is a must even if you're not kick around Glorantha.

Hello everyone,
Ok I am trying to mass together a good collection of BRP stuff so I can build up or collect as much resource materials as I can to help add to my own collection. I am in the process of redesigning my own FRPG campaign that had formly been a D&D ver 3.5 d20 game mechanics campaign, well I am redoing it now using BRP.
So far these are the works that I currently own (all are Printed books):
Basic Role Playing - Core book
BRP - Clasic Fantasy
BRP - Basic Gamemaster
BRP - Basic Creatures
BRP - Basic Magic
BRP - Witchcraft
BRP - Val-Du-Loup
BRP - Ashes to Ashes
BRP - Rome
BRP - In Search of the Trollslayer
Also I own the following BRP product for Traveller based stuff:
BRP - Outpost 19
Now other BRP products I would also like to purchase once they either come out in a "Printed" version would be the following Items:
Grimoire
The Chronicles of Future Earth
Necromancy
Operation Ulysses
The Green
Veni,Vidi,Vici
The River Terror
BRP Adventures
Plus some Cthulhu stuff as well too:
Cthulhu - Dark Ages
Cthulhu - Invictus
Cthulhu - Rising
Jovian Nightmares
Yes for me I would pursue both Fantasy and Space materials to add to my collection. So what else should I also be collecting or what new products have I missed to add to my list guys?

Ok just a quick question then, what happens to the Adventures that get picked? Do they make a collection of sorts and sell it as a .pdf amd "printed" version book?
Penn
-
Well I am sure The Green will be worth having and adding to my Libray of "printed stuff". Now the other reason I have "STOPPED" buying .pdf things is a while back I made the mistake of NOT backing up my files on a Flash or External drive and first I got a nasty virus on my pc, and then a while later my mother board and power supply croked and I lost everything on that PC. I have learned to back things up on external storage butit is alot of trouble. Plus after a person buys a .pdf, down loads it, takes it somewhere to get sudo-professionally printed and bound in a book format...it ends uup taking more space on a shelf than a printed copy and costs even more than the printed version with S&H too. To me the convience of getting a book already printed is the way to go for me. Also I take very good care of my resource libray and my books last a long time anyway.

Actually I have used Witches within my fantasy campaign now for years. The Witchs of Murasi , are viewed by the people almost as Gods (The Immortal Witch Kings) chosen. it is said that they get their powers from deal with Demons, and are considered to practice Dark Arts and ways. It is also said that they do human sacrafice and can drain power from the land and living as well too. They are greatly feared by all, and go out of their way to attack any other religious beliefs within their lands. They are a Dark Force to stay clear of.
Also note in my campaign realm I always start my players within the small Kingdom of Jhorgule, where I have run using it now for 25 years. The main church of Jhorgule prays to a god called Bahlidoar - he is the One true God (think Christian/Chatolic god).Bahlidoar uses Angels and Saints as his chosen to communicate with his believers. His counter is a Fallen One (Former lead Angel) called Ulric (think the Devil of the Christian/Catholic faith). Ulric uses Demons and Daemons (Evil Souls) to do his biddings. Now also in the same area many of the people still hold or maintain beliefs in the Old Gods of; Tempest, Krumm, Belisame, Epona, Ogmios, and Teutates. These gods were Celtic and Norse in Nature.
Now the Witch King of Murasi has been trying to make inroads into spreading his own faith/control into the Kingdom of Jhorgule for a long time. Ulric seems to be aiding The Witch King, but the connection is not truely understand. They do seem to be at odds at times as well too.
Just a bit to know where I am comming and what I might write about in a adventure.

Shameless plug...LAMO<g>!!!

Well I voted in the two polls I have seen so far.

For me if I wrote a adventure using the Witchcraft theme, I would be using the Witches from my own campaign from the great swap/march Kingdom of Murasi where the Witch King rules using his Dark Arts<g>!!!

I voted for Fantasy, but I'd be just as happy with SciFi too! BTW I also love Post Apocalypse too as my 3rd choice. Thus D&D, Traveller, and Gamma World junkie<g>!

I voted Witchcraft as it would be a awesome subject to do. It could also add to the subject as well.

Basic Creatures....I have never really liked RQ very much but then I have not seen or looked at it since the 1st edition RQ either.

Although that is a good idea to do, I would be best at creating a adventure for either a Fantasy or Space type setting. Now which I choose might depend on what folks have to say, but I wouldn't be able to wait around for people to make up their minds what they really like to see either. Thus we'd have to get cracking at the polls asap!

Actually I just bought and read the book myself, and feel it is a great work to build off of. I have not GM'd it though, I would alter the "plague" to be more of a "Zombie style" with a cross of The Dead/ The Rage/ The Mutants from I Am Legend all wrapped into one to make a NASTY Plague.

Hey it is a great book and I have it as well too<g>! I must to have for all.

I want a "printed" copy for my hot little hands to hold, you see these older eyes doesn't like to read a .pdf in the Throne room either..LOL!

Wow I am almost tempted to give this a try, but what genre would I write for...hmmm so many choices!

Just use the BRP systemm as your gaming mechanics and get some Conan Mongoose setting books for your background is all you would need to do.

You know what race I would like to see explored and developed is the Norse myth of Trolls or Thulls as they were called. Now they were NOT D&D's version, but instead were strong and ugly but extremely intelligent with high metal working skills and magic use.

Yes a BRP Knight book would be awesome!
