  2. Here is how the F-150 is coming out. Since the was the first of the trucks to be converted, it has helped to illustrate a few of the problems with the design rules. Specifically that trucks tend to have higher torque from their engines than cars, resulting in greater STR, but not as much speed or acceleration.

The big slow down for trucks is a difficulty in getting some of the data I need to write them up. Since trucks are designed for work/hauling rather than speed, and handling, actual top speed and lateral acceleration data is harder to come by. Also, since they often have several different configurations of cab, engine and chassis it's harder to come up with fixed stats without doing a couple dozen different write ups.

The are rough stats, and might get tweaked a bit as I polish up the conversion guidelines.

    Ford F150 (2003) [4.2LV6, 202hp, 252ft-lbs, 4x2]

    Type: Light Truck

    Skill: Drive

    Rated Speed: 14

    Handling: -5%

ACC: 7 (reduced from 8 to account for better hauling/towing capacity)

    MOV: 191 (172kph/107mph, estimated)

    Armor:16/2

    SIZ: 49

    HP: 59

STR: 72 (increased from 68 to account for high torque)

Payload: 2060 lbs (about SIZ 41)

Towing: Gross Vehicle Combined Weight of 9,000 pounds (SIZ 58) with standard 3.31 axle.

sweet thatnx for that... you have not happened to make a sheet for vehicles?

  3. The screen for the icelandic RPG has a quite nice "world" map on the player side. witch is quite usefull for that system but in BRP ... where you can make it happen where ever when ever etc... I don't know .... hard to say ... maybe some nice painting/drawing where it spans through space (sci-fi) and onto modern, then into a cthulhu-esk and then into a high fantasy/medievil setting in one painting/drawing if you catch my drift :P

What tables would everyone like to see on a screen?

I prefer landscape screens myself, how about you?

I was thinking of taking my hand at one, so I am taking requests for content. :D

Like - What goes on the screen and what would be best in a packet?

  4. Uh, the whole F-line? Considering that the F series has been around for decades, and that there are several different models and variants, that request might be a bit much. Literally dozens of different trucks. Could you trim that down a little?

    hehe sorry I wasn't thinking :P ... erm the F-150, F-250, F-350 models i don't know ... yeah I think those would suffice what model (year) not quite sure ... I would prefer newly 2003 +

  5. Sorry, I always forget that. Its a small world, unless you need to have something shipped someplace.

I can buy one at a discount at my local game store and ship it to you if that would help. It would be full shipping but maybe 20-25% off the price of the game. Do you have a PayPal account?

    Rod

Yes I do ... that would be most appreciated but I won't do it until next month pay day and all :P but yeah thax a bunch ill keep that in mind.

  6. Hey mummi,

Since I've been working on my Vehicle Design rules again, I was wondering if there are any partiuclar vehicles you'd like to see written up for BRP? I can probably get you a game-usable conversion of just about any car, truck or van.

Umm... well The group that I "master?" they have an Ford F150 2003 so ... the whole F-line would be nice and some maybe the Toyota Hilux, Landcruser, and some FBI CIA vehicle's yeah ... those are the first ones that come to mind :P

  7. Enquiring minds want to know:lol: Especially as it looks like a semi acoustic bass which is a pretty rare animal guitar wise

heh.. yeah it is an Acoustic bass but enough about that! I knew I should have taken it out of the picture :D

  8. Here are images of my GM screen :P

Here is it folded a same height as A4 but a bit wider.

    Image100.jpg

    Image101.jpg

Here it is fully open it spans just over 5 A4's

    Image102.jpg

    The inside

    Image103.jpg

And the Player side, it's all black but I might get some nice stickers etc.. to make it look more interesting but what I taught about doing was clipping on it maps and images etc.. for each quest.

    Image104.jpg

I printed out the tables from the BRP book and put the ones I think are the most used while playing or atleast the ones I use the most.

and sorry for the bad quality I took them on my phone. what do you guy's think?

  9. I had originally planned on creating BRP GM Screen inserts for the Pinnacle screen (just as a fan of the system, nothing "official"), but I've just been too busy to get around to it.

Hopefully things will calm down a bit and I can get on that.

Have things calmed down for you? :D

  10. The trick is to think about what the car/truck/boat/whathaveyou is needed or, and what you expect the PCs to do with it. That should help you figure out just what details are going to be important.

For example, in a modern/supernatural campaign, I would see a vehicles being used by the PCs to:

    1) Get them from Point A to Point B (Like from their HQ to the suspected lair o a werewolf).

    2) Carry any gear they might need (silver bullets for example)

    3) Get them away from point B PDQ, when things are going horribly wrong and they need to get out of dodge. ("I thought you had the silver bullets!"

    4) Provide them with some cover when things are going badly. ("Oh my gawd, we didn't shake it, and it's clawing through the roof").

    5) Serve as a secondary basecamp under adverse circumstances ("Uh, guys, I think I lost my wallet back there. It had all my money, and my driver's license. Can werewolves read?")

    6) Be used as an emergency source of funding. ("How much will you give me for the van? UH no, those aren't claw marks, that's a sun roof. Tires are overrated anyway.)

    7) Serve as temporary living quarters when necessary. ("Gee Sally, snuggled up like this isn't too bad. Say, that's a nasty looking scar on your hand there. Is that an animal bite?")

    8) Serve as place to stash things that PCs don't want to be found. ("Sally, oh NO, SAALLLYY, NOOOOOO!")

Personally, I suggest a nondescript van with tinted glass. Getting it armored and installing puncture proof tires aren't bad ideas, but let the players figure those things out or themselves.

It's like you read my mind!

  11. I have never played a modern and or future system, only been in the mythical realm :P.

But now I am making a quest in a modern "supernatural" world and the players kinda need a car.... Should I make a info sheet for the car or is that not necessary? I would like to have the game to depend on their driving skill and the car at some point well the plot I have in mind has at one point a small focus on the car. Is it enough to just tell them they have a car or should I have it on paper :P and also if they want to ... I don't know buy a GPS or what ever how should I make that work? give the driver some extra in tracking while driving or what?

Please tell me how you use cars/trucks/boats/whathaveyou's in a moder/future brp setting?

  12. I strongly encourage folks to email Dustin and express an interest in such a project.

A landscape 3-panel GM screen combined with a packet of tables, character sheets, etc. would be invaluable.

Forgive my ignorance but who is Dustin and what is his email? :D

  13. I made my own. I printed out various pages from the PDF BRP rules on to sticky paper and stuck them to some card sheets. I put images from the book on the out-side so the players would have something to look at other than blank card.

jeah ... did the same kinda... but I when I printed out the resistance table my printer did not print out the active and passive numbers :S I have no idea why it did that.
