  1. Hey there guys, I have a question about a type of hanging trap that I'd like to use in an upcoming session. The party will walk through hanging vines and there will be ropes with hangman's noose made from the same vines mixed in. They would be meant to catch the character by the head, arms etc. Should I use an attack roll for something like this? If so, it would be a surprise attack I'd assume.

Also, would the character be able to do much while suspended? A similar trap that catches the foot would be difficult to escape from but what about an arm or the neck?

Anything in the hand would be dropped automatically or roll against something?

    Any suggestions?

  2. Thanks for the tips guys. I have my own world set that I've been working on for some time but finding a system you can use that fits your world is hard. All of them try to re-order your technology to its vision along with everything else.

  3. Hey guys, I'm looking for a rules light not-too-distant-into-the-future hard science fiction system thats skill based. I don't need FTL or any trek/swars/cyberpunk technology or burdened with too much of its own back story? Hopefully something that would be make it easy to run an A. C. Clarke 2001, 2010 style science fiction game.

I don't need blasters or too much space combat. Mass drivers would be good but no lasers.

I enjoy playing Runequest and Legend so I thought it might be a good idea to ask here if you fellows know if an alternative version of the BRP system that might be a good fit for me?

  4. I've been trying to google some sample magic items for runequest and when that failed, I thought of you guys. I'm totally clueless about what to look for or how a magic items should be structured or limited. Help please.

  5. I'm working on quite a few for Classic Fantasy II. The following are finished...

Ohhh.... *salivating* I have sent you a join request. ;t)

  6. For a project I was working on I experimented with converting OGL monsters and worked up various types of Bugbears for MRQII. The stats are on my wiki at http://b5quest.pbworks.com/Bugbear if you're interested.

Very cool. Bugbears are something I wouldn't have thought of, in fact something I haven't used since 1st edtion ad&d. But you know what, I just might have to. ;D

I want fire drakes, slaad and more to be honest. Has no one a conversion document for monsters?

  7. Heya guys. Who sells runequest miniatures these days? Does anyone? I was looking for some broo and a few other things and the only ones I could find were on Noble Knight's site. They have a pack of broo but nothing else.

ps - I'd even buy painted minis if the price wasn't too high.

  8. I have to be honest and say this is more about the cthulhu games than brp but since I own BRP and am an avowed newbie, then I can probably ask these questions here. :)

I've ordered Call of Cthulhu v6 but it hasn't arrived yet. I have found a program called Byakhee on sourceforge that can generate investigators either on the v5 or v5.5 ruleset. As a newbie I have no idea what the differences might be from v5 to v6 since I don't/won't own v5. Can someone clue me in on the major differences between v5, v5.5 and v6? I'd really like to know if generating some quick investigators with Byakhee will be practical or not when used in v6.

My second question is about the differences between v6 and BRP? Much of a difference or not?

Appreciate your answers in advance. :)

  9. I'll look over my notes and see if I can put something up. Are you interested more in blasting through stuff or doing damage?

Smaller blasting stuff at this point. I'm going to run a 1 shot soon with a small merc unit hired to recover some "lost" biological materials.
