  1. THere are a lot of advantages to contacting Chasoium. An actually BRP product is probably going to get more interest than a BRP realted product for PenQuest or GORE.At rthe very least, a BRP product doesn't need to be adjusted to make it compatable with BRP the way a BRP related product might need to be. Less work for a GM means a greater chance of making a sale.

How does one go about proposing for a monograph?

  2. I just can't imagine circumstances that make sense of doing a project that is explicitly BRP but NOT communicating with Chaosium...

    Cheers,

    Nick

    # Chaosium were entirely amenable to me charging for Uncounted Worlds to cover my costs - it was my choice to NOT charge for it.

Oh, no! Just wanted clarification about OpenQuest, D100, etc., which I see on the web. Thanks, though, for all the suggestions. ;D

  3. Hi, y'all,

On the 6th, I went ahead and submitted an order for three monographs from the Chaosium site. Status showed it was being processed on the 9th. Still haven't received my order. I sent an email on the 12th querying about what appeared to be dupes of my order. Never got a response. Just sent another message tonight about my order, whose status is still being processed.

How much longer shall I wait before querying again? Other others from other, even smaller companies, have come in. I've read on the forums here that the Chaosium staff is notorious for not responding to emails messages. I'm debating about calling Chaosium next week.

    Thanks!

EDIT: Per Chaosium's site: FREE SHIPPING ALERT: We offer free shipping for U.S. orders over $60.00. Please allow 7-10 days for arrival. This feature triggers automatically for qualifying U.S. orders.

My order was over $70. I'll continue to wait but prep next week's Cthulhu Rising demo in another system (Realms of Cthulhu) just in case.

  4. Have you ever looked into the 3.5 modules from Necromancer games. ( 3rd edition rules, 1st edition feel).

There are some good looking adventure/campaigns such as "The Vault of Larin Karr" and "The Lost city of Barakus".

I haven't run them but have read through them. They are in the mold(sp) of a Griffin Mountain. A large wilderness area surrounding a city or town, with lots of encounters, lairs, ruins, and dungeons. They have one over riding storyline but lots of sub plots to play with. Kind of a sandbox for the players to mess around in.

Yeah. I have a few of them. May consider converting them in the future. Same with some Goodman mods. (D&D 3.x stuff. The current Goodman Game mods for current D&D rules are a bit...simplistic.) :ohwell:

  5. I never ran them as a long interconnected campaign, instead chose elements from them that could be used over one or two sessions. Any more than that would have severely cut into the time I was supposed to be writing the book. Now that the first is done, I plan to start a larger continuing campaign, however, as I mentioned above, I want to dig out my old classic adventures.

    Coolio :D

  6. Some of the original APs from Dungeon mag were 12 adventures long ! Shackled City and Age of Worms come to mind.

I always thought they would be neat to run, but I wonder if the players get the feeling of being railroaded into following the path. Have you had that problem with your play testing ?

Campaigns usually broke down before I encountered such an issue. (People moving away, timing, etc.) If/when I start such an AP again (and avoid the breakdown), I hope to resolve is similar to Savage Worlds' Plot Point system.

  7. This thread brings up a concern of mine.

I was about to register last night on the Chaosium site to create my account when I noted no encryption lock on my browser (Firefox). Chaosium.com has not protection? I checked other sites where I've ordered products and encryption was just fine. I sent a message to Chaosium about this issue and am waiting to hear back from them.

Now I wonder if I should just call with my order. Also, I plan to order a large batch (6+ products). Shall I wait until the office staff is fully returned? (Apparently Dustin is out or something.) I really don't want to wait several months for my stuff. ;-(

  8. Rise of the Runelords

    Coolio. Which one?

Depending on my gaming groups, I'm looking at Curse of the Crimson Throne, Second Darkness, or the Council of Thieves. I love city adventures and also think the thee APs fit BRP's more gritty system.

  9. I used a few of them for Classic Fantasy when I was actively playtesting it.

Which one? Rise of the Runelords? Curse of the Crimson Throne?

Now that the hard part is done, I'm mainly converting longer "classic" D&D adventures. Against The Giants to begin in 2 weeks. >:->

    TPK! LOL :P
