His death in the marsh, along with his Humakti companions, was duck-related - which was tragic given he was the original Duckfriend who brought the Lismelder under Duck rule.  But you never can trust ducks. 

His Hero cult has its own gifts & geas. One of them is "Never let a duck suffer needlessly" 

And at least he died with his boots on - according to some he was never seen to take them off!
