Here's an idea Doofstructor, tell your players it's like the Cthulhu rules. Call of Cthulhu is one of those games that's still attracting younger people, so there can't be many people who haven't played.

Wouldn't there have to be some sort of barrier below ground too? Otherwise people could just dig out, or even easier follow the sewers.

I've been a roleplayer since 1985. Call of Cthulhu and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying are what I've played the most. BRP is the best of all possible worlds. In the past I would buy a game for the background and end up going back to Cthulhu because it's just much easier than anything else. Now with BRP you can play any setting you like with sensible rules.

I have the original Creatures of the Dreamlands supplement for Cthulhu. The colour plates are on every other page! You just don't get that level of art in role playing games these days. I realise that we are an obscure hobby and costs must be constrained, but even the cover art is pretty bad these days. I want some inspiring cover art that will encourage me to pick up a book and look at it. The sort of thing that will look good on a bookcase with my fantasy art books and my collection of 1970's science fiction. The only BRP book that really stands out is The Laundry.

I think if you're currently running a BRP game, tell us all about it. I only manage boardgames and collectable card games these days, so I'd love to hear about your games.

Librarything.com is worth a look. You list the books you've read, you can write reviews and it has groups you can join such as science fiction fans, weird fiction and roleplayers.

I thought the world had forgotten about Skyrealms of Jorune. I remember buying it because I liked the setting and then only playing it once because the system is so complicated. I've never played any game which runs as easily as Call of Cthulhu, which is why I'm so pleased that the BRP rules have been published as a generic system. I'm also amazed by all the fantastic settings. It's the way things should have been 20 years ago. One great rules system, played in various settings. I just wish British games shops would stock more of the BRP books.
