yes that was our conclusion also. when attacker wins against fighting back no shield should be applied for defender.

question of shield use table on page 102 when fighting back and example on same page second last paragraph are contradicting the use of shield when fighting back.
we are playing Horror on the orient express and we are using Dark ages rules for combat for attack on Constantinople and we had a fight involving many people with shield.

table mentioned that defender can count ono shield to absorb some damage while example texts says cannot. i have attched two snippets from rulebook to clarify.
text snippet assumes defender fails his defense//fighting back roll.
When reading the rule it states same as Table. Should we assume that rule text and table is correct and example is wrong.

had tried for some time and now it worked. 
 

See that an errata was posted 2nd of December but I cannot download or read the errata. Cannot find any more info in the forums. Anyone have this errata available? Showing what is changed.

Looking good. Hope you make a bit darker and weird over all layout and images. Seen the French edition and their artwork/feeling is much more horror. 

Especially for this monster manual would love to see it much darker and scary. Good step on the way it is
