I think back in the day (2nd Ed D&D) there was a whole thing where players could buy levels by using gold, at which point how much treasure is worth matters a lot more. I much prefer RQG where cows matter!

This is great, thank you for sorting these out.

Great news, been looking forward to the print version. Ordered first and third volumes. Are there any plans to update the second volume?

I played a CA cultist back in the RQ 3 days, got him to rune priest level, it was great fun. Lots of complaining to other players about their obsession with violence and trying to show them the true way. Sleep is very powerful, combined with non chaos NPCs not wanting to hit you, gives the player a lot of choices. The other players put up with him because he saved them sooo many times.
There is a lot of trying not to fight in RQ, having a player who looks for another way makes the game more interesting. When it does kick off the other players will quickly learn how useful a CA character can be.

Hi CaptainDan, we have a UK based game every Wednesday evening - 7:30 to 11ish... we are only a couple of sessions into our campaign. If the time suits you I will check with the other players...
Thanks for the offer, yes the time would suit, ask the other players if it’s a problem don’t worry about it

The more I read of this new edition the desperate I am to play. Any help finding a group would be much appreciated

Came across these a few weeks back and I am really enjoying them 😀
Cost of Control Cult Spirit
in RuneQuest
Posted
My problem is with the resistance roll for control. With a large elemental it can cost 5 rune points and even with a good pow and argumentation there can be 30% chance of failure. At which point the elemental turns on you and either you have to fight it or spend another 3 rune points dispelling it.
Since the only time you want to summon a large elemental is in dangerous situations, the fact it can all go wrong (30% of time) makes the cost seem excessive.
