  1. Thank you all for the help. I see that the Borderlands & Beyond book is on sale on the Chaosium site. Would you recommend the adventures in that book to a bunch of new RQG players looking for a mercenary-style campaign?
  2. Hi, folks. Some background... I would consider myself "new" to Glorantha despite having read the old "Introduction to the Hero Wars" book, HQG, and RQ Classic. There is just so much to the setting. It's a lot to take in. Recently a friend picked up the new RQ books hoping to run a game very similar in tone to the old Conan the Barbarian movie. Having only read through RQ Classic, I had suggested that RuneQuest might be what he was looking for. But I didn't expect him to go right out and pick up the new edition. I think he likes the game, but he is a bit confused by some of the magic systems and has indicated that a clan-based game set in Dragon Pass is not really what he's going for. I thought maybe a "scum of the earth" sort of game set in Pavis might be more in line with his goals -- is this sort of play really supported in the new RQ? It seems very easy to do in RQ Classic. Are there any web resources I could point him to that would help? Are the old Pavis books compatible with the new edition? Thank you all in advance for the help. I've lurked on these forums for a long time and I've always been impressed by the quality and friendliness of the community.
