I think Chad Bowser is working on a Russian setting to be published under the Mythras Gateway.

He is and, without saying anything, it's great!! ;)

    Chad does brilliant work.

  2. Always happy to wave the Cultist flag

    Name: Michael
    Country: Canada
    Location: Vancouver BC

Been playing/Keeping CoC since 1982. Run demos at game days, Con's, FLGS and completed ATtH last month with my home group. When I run games at stores and game days 70-80% of the players are new to CoC, which is great to let them discover a true Great One One! :D

  3. I'll see what they are offering for Canada now and maybe I'll get lucky.....sound of luck roll....:P

UPDATE: Looks like Lulu has shipping in Canada, as I just purchased the book and received free shipping! Surprised and delighted! Now I have to wait for the mail.....is it here yet?

  4. As shipping to Canada from U.S. is INSANE, will the physical product be available from another locale? UK? Sweden? Japan! :P  Yes, it's cheaper S&H from Japan or UK to Canada, go figure.

PS Congrats, really looking forward to this one.

Thanks! I will post here on the forums when the PDF is available.

Just out of curiosity: I sometimes see games with multiple PDFs included (one full color, one black & white, one low-res). Is this a good idea? I never find any use for them, but others might I assume.

I always appreciate getting a Hi-Res vesion for my tablet and a printer friendly version to be able to print sections for players as needed. More is better for me! :)

I hear you. We're working on a Canadian fulfilment centre to get round such problems.

Sweet to hear Loz. Just a note, the UK based Book Depository is offering the books, some on pre-order, and the exchange rate is better than the U.S. and they offer FREE International shipping. Of course if I can get them straight from Design Mechanism with Canadian fulfillment, that's even better.

    So, quick update.

The shipping system estimates the 'best way' shipping to the destination address, trying to balance speed and price. I live in Canada, and the estimated shipping automatically applied on my test order (placed just now) for Mythras was $24.50. This is by no means that most expensive (see picture). What I'm guessing is the system is making encoded assumptions (we've certainly not set them) that customers within the US, because that's where we distribute from, want the fastest way. So that is what it bases its estimate on, but then allows you to choose an alternative. As you can see, for Canada, it had actually selected the cheapest option as the default.

I'm not sure what can be done about this, but we'll try see if there's a setting that allows for default overrides to the cheapest option - although that is not always the best option, if you want to ensure you order arrives without risk of damage.

And I think this answers my question about Canadian shipping!  I'll have to stick to PDF's and look out for deals out of the UK or maybe Japan. Weird, but I can often get great S&H rates from those countries to Canada and better exchange rates too. :D

  8. If I order via the Design Mechanism site in Canada, does the order still ship from the U.S.? Just looking to see if there is a Canadian warehouse as U.S. to Canada is nuts. I live in Vancouver and to order a game from Seattle usually costs more than the product! :(

  9. Jeff, now that the release of 7th edition is eminent,  any update on the timeline for release of Doors to Darkness?  I'm really planning to expose new players to CoC and this type of supplement will be great!

Pulp Cthulhu, when it appears, might be a good choice for the A!C books.

When I first started to read through A!C I was thrilled, but worried about how CoC would handle, so thought I'd go Savage Worlds (it's dual Stat'ed). Then heard so many great things about the "coming soon" Pulp Cthulhu, especially from "The Good Friends" Triad, I realized that it would be best to wait for the release. A!C is very pulpy, over the top and you'll want the rules to handle that aspect.

That said, I love World War Cthulhu and I'm just wrapping an 18 month weekly game based around the product which works great with both 6th & 7th Ed. It really delivers on the dark, grim reality of war while adding the layer of cosmic madness that truly makes it desperate for the players.
