  1. I don't think I will get the Spanish version (I already got the English books, but who knows, I got RQ6 softcover, RQ6 hardcover, and Mythras, I might be getting the same rules a fourth time 😋), but this is good news. I hope it helps spread the good word among Spanish fans of Mythras.

By the way, how many languages has Mythras been translated to?

There is no "1H Spear" skill now, it's a category. You have a skill in a specific weapon, which gives you half chance in other weapons in the same category.

Thank you for the info! Sometimes, comments like this are way more informative, and tell you more about a game, than certain reviews.

  3. I don't see the point in splitting the RQ forum. On the contrary, I would suggest that several subforums (or all of them!) should be eliminated. When a subforum gets few posts, it feels lifeless and abandoned.

By the way, I'm using parts of Price of Honour in my campaign, but there are two sorcery spells in that book (I have the Legend ed.) that I can't seem to find on any Mongoose RuneQuest or Legend book I've looked up.
Could anyone please help me find their descriptions? The spells are:

    • Aura of Lightning
    • Bolts of Agony

Thanks in advance for any help!   ;)

I just checked the corebooks, and you're right, these spells don't appear in MRQ2, or Legend.

Still on the fence about pre-ordering, since shipping to Germany is pretty expensive ... will it be available through other shops soon?

Can I ask how much it is? I don't live in Germany, but shipping to Spain will be similar, I guess...

  6. Thank you for your answers, I will definitely check Aeon Games site. Their offer of free shipping to all Europe is great. I will wait patiently (or rather impatiently) until I can order books from them.

  7. I'm not sure if I got it right. Do you mean that Aeon Games is going to print DM books, in the UK on their own (well, I suppose under license)? So, let's say I want to order Mythic Britain from them, all I have to do is wait for Aeon Games to make it available in the near future, and order it? Or are they a POD service?

  8. Recently, on The Design Mechanism site, I read the following announcement:

Important Note: UK and European Customers, please order our titles through our partner, Aeon Games Publishing. Your shipping costs will be cheaper, and your orders received sooner.

Aeon Games offers free shipping to all UK and Europe customers (yay!). However, no product is available, that is, whenever I click on any title, it says: "This item is not yet published. You may pre-order a copy and we will send it out when it becomes available". Is this normal? Does anybody know when DM products will be available?

    Thank you in advance

I also like the Special Effect. Loved them since I fist saw the critical hit system in Usagi Yojimbo (pretty much the same thing except you can get multiple specials). However I don't like opposed rolls, and I like the resistance table. I like category modifiers as they make attributes important.  I also prefer the RQ2/RQ3 magic systems. So that's why I use RQ3 for my base and import other stuff that I need.

I thought I was the only weirdo who thinks that Sanguine Usagi Yojimbo is a wonderful system. It is perhaps the only dice pool system that I actively like and enjoy, as opposed to "endure"

I may be very pessimistic, here, indeed. Contrary to what I believe, the different essential rules may attract more players to the D100 system, and someone who tries a BRP Essential game may want to try an other D100 system after that ... But I doubt. I sometimes glance at what other publishers offer, thinking that it is very interesting, but, eventually, I only buy BRP products. And I suppose that a RuneQuest Essential fan, for instance, rarely buy a BRP product.

    * Hopefully, Mega's original authors are working on a new edition which will surely gather it together again.

I buy, and I have bought, gaming books made by Chaosium, Mongoose, Alephtar Games, and the Design Mechanism. I follow a d100 blog, wherein its author describes how he ran the campaign included in Crusaders of the Amber Coast (a supplement written for BRP), using RuneQuest 6th, and he didn't have a single problem. In my opinion, all d100 games are very compatible, and there is no risk of breakup.

User CLAVDIVS on therpgsite was interested in the game once it is out but he did not back the KS. I do not know if he reads these boards. And he is Spanish. So perhaps if you post on the Revolution thread there he might be interested in a game in Spanish.

Thank you very much for thinking about me Paolo! ;) Yes, I have an account here, BRP Central is one of my favorite gaming forums.

    Gracias!

I'd rather forego them in anything like Sword & Sorcery or Horror games... I don't think they suit the mood.

In the case of Sword & Sorcery, I think that they do fit the mood very well. They would be available to Sword & Sorcery heroes (and big baddies), but not to their companions. In Sword & Sorcery stories, heroes often survive by a nose hair.

  13. As the title says.

Yesterday I went to Alephtar games site (I have been fighting against myself not to buy Winds on the Steppes, it is a question of time that I will end upcaving in), and to my surprise all the historical supplements are gone. What's going on? Does it have anything to do with Paolo's plans to publish his own 1d100 system? And the most important, will the historicals be available for sale again?

    Thank you, kind regards
