  1. I've used the Call of C'thulhu and Chaosium logos, as well as imagery from the A Time to Harvest signs Chaosium has sent out.  That seems fair game since I'm advertising that I'm running this scenario.

Until someone from Chaosium speaks up saying it's OK, I'd be cautious in how much you use from the books.  Fair Use in part comes down to substantiality of work used, and even if it's a small image or two I'd include a copyright statement along the lines of "Some images (c) Chaosium Games" as respectful credit where credit is due.

Mike, it was an option, but the group are avowed users of Apple electronics and loath Adobe products with a passion. I even gave them the choice of pre-generated characters, but they all wanted to create their own. Which meant that they all busy using the calculators on their iPhones...

The autocalc sheets work fine in NitroReader (which I honestly recommend over Adobe Reader), probably would work in other quality PDF reader programs, just not guaranteed.

  3. I'll keep this in mind when I run mine at the end of the month.  I was planning on a single 4+ hr session per 'chapter' based on initial information, good to know that it may roll over into additional sessions.  I'll have to touch base with the game store that I'm running at for forward planning (and likely trim down on the red herrings if needed, unless I get a group like my new-to-gaming D&D group that never looks for trouble ever...)

  4. Should for some reason a player get their PC killed mid-game, is it reasonable for them to take over one of the non-critical student NPCs?

Also, and maybe this is b/c I don't have the full rules yet, only the quick start, I'm not sure what it means when say someone has a 40% chance of knowing 1D3 spells.  Or more specifically, I can think of a few different ways to interpret it and am not sure which is correct.
