  1. Alright now I understand. Thanks for the help. I think I will pick up RQ2, it sounds like it's pretty good.
  2. http://www.amazon.com/RuneQuest-Core-Rulebook-Matthew-Sprange/dp/1905471106/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265327736&sr=8-3 this is the core rule book i got. It says its published by Mongoose in 2006. I don't see a lot of difference in it and the Luxury Edition that's available for download at this site. Of course I could be wrong, I may not have noticed the changes. The Deluxe core rules say they are done by Mongoose Publishing too. I dunno, they don't say what edition they are. I was curious about RuneQuest 2? Has anyone tried that yet?
  3. I currently have Basic Role Playing, and the RuneQuest Core Rulebook and I went to the downloads section at this site and downloaded RuneQuest Luxury Edition. I was thinking about picking up RuneQuest Deluxe Edition but with the books I already have, would there even be a point? I thought it would have content the other two books don't but I don't know. Is there anything that the Deluxe Edition contains that the other two are missing?
  4. Well, i was finally able to round up enough people to give BRP a try. Everyone loved it, some of them loved it so much they are switching from D@D to BRP because they wanted more freedom and customization in their campaigns. Everyone agreed it was a better system too, and it looks like we'll be playing it instead. Thanks to anyone who commented on my posts and gave advice, it helped smooth things along.
  5. Ah, I see now, thank you for explaining that.
  6. I also wanted to ask, I noticed the book mentions that if a character has a skill of 100% or higher he could divide the % and use it to make two attacks. But what if he just decides not to, and will always hit because its 100% chance of success. I'm sorry for all the questions, I've thought of making the character then make rolls out of 200% so with his 100% it would be 50/50 again, but because it's a new system for me I wanted to hear other people's opinions who have more experience. Thank you by the way for all the prompt responses and help.
  7. thank you for the helpful responses, and yeah, I probably will need a bigger board.
  8. I just recently picked up BRP and think its great. My friends and I are going to start a campaign that's in a fantasy medieval/ancient setting. I wanted to ask if anyone knows any good system for movement rates and that kind of thing because we are going to use miniatures and a chessboard. What was given in the book confused me, and I wanted to see if anyone has any good examples that they use for miniatures. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
