This is not how I understand it. I may be wrong.

I agree with Phil's understanding of this, the Battle skill description states

'The Battle Results table shows the results of the engagement for that adventurer. The Experience column lists all the skills that the adventurer may check for experience and possibly improve later (see the Between Adventures chapter).'

    and within the table results

'Best three weapons and POW experience check.'

It seems to me that once you've got your experience checks the improvement roll happens between adventures as normal, I'm not seeing anything about additional improvement rolls

  2. I was prompted to this by a post in the Spells for Odayla thread, and although I've headlined BG the question is really about any of the cults with gender restrictions, including Ernalda and Maran Gor.

RQ:G states for Orlanthi there are four sexes and six genders, but some cults still restrict by sex/gender. If a character were biologically male, and gender was a male in a female role (nandan?) Could they join BG, and ultimately make Rune Lady?

As a follow up, could a biological female follow Waha - bit more tricky this one as it's not Orlanthi culture.

PS - I can't help thinking of Loretta in Life of Brian...

  3. I'd go with a city gods influence/rune spells working to the city boundaries (so including surrounding farmland etc). This might give scope to Pavis worshipers trying to extend\recover some of the old territory the city ruled. Maybe Agrath would initially support this as King of Pavis, but later be against it once his nomad allies start complaining - could lead to some interesting politics..

  4. I've had a couple of goes at this also, but I only get the @ symbol - curiously, using David's Word document when I toggle bold off the @ symbol remains but the others vanish, which makes me wonder about the font file itself - I use a W11 PC rather than a mac, if that makes a difference..

    a failure stops the bleeding,

I'm not sure I understand this, I thought it required a success to stop bleeding

"If the roll succeeds, all bleeding stops and the victim is prevented from dying. If unsuccessful, the user may try again to stop the bleeding in the next round."

Dark Walk defeats Darksense / Earthsense per RBM

RBM states Dark Walk defeats Darskee, not Darksense, it's no help in sneaking up on Trolls (I'm sure I remember a quote somewhere along the lines you may cast the spell, but I am of the dark, born and bred to it..)

While I’m leaning in that direction, it’s not really clear from the text.

Also, who is a ”worshiper”? Does lay member count?

It's clearer under the Berserker spell description in Red Book of Magic (P16/17) - it also change the relevant stat from POW to CHA

Chalana Arroy Priestesses have an ability to bring someone out of a Berserk Rage. Does that only affect Storm Bull cultists? No, it affects anyone with the Berserker spell. The spell is the important thing.

It does only affects Storm Bull cultists, it's down to the associated cult ties between the two cults

  9. P10 - image.png.43749a97502c2d1fba1a747c24b2dd87.png

but the repair spell states (in both the core book and Red Book of Magic)

    image.png.a1546739577b948b5c4d0a382e972442.png

P25 - there don't seem to be any metal working tools - not sure if these would these be broken down to general smithing, Tools, weaponsmith, and Tools, armoursmith tools or just Tools, Metalworking

P35 - climbers pack & soldiers pack - it would be useful to have individual entries for the items somewhere in the book. For example, a character may want (or may want to exclude) just a grappling hook or an entrenching tool.

Dagger-Axe - should this now be a polearm rather than 2H Axe?

  10. Adventuring Gear (P34)

“Bags and backpacks have ENC themselves but reduce the ENC of any item inside them or securely strapped to them by up to that ENC before the bulkiness of the contents becomes noticeable Thus, a 2 ENC backpack with a one-man tent and a firestarter kit in it totals 3 ENC, not 5. In general, where a thing packs into another, do not count the ENC of the outer container unless the apparent weight becomes unfeasible.”

As written, there doesn’t seem to be any gain in having a backpack, as the ENC is whatever the content weighs with a minimum of 2 ENC – in the example a tent (ENC 2) and firestarter (ENC 1) would be 3 ENC regardless of the backpack.

If a container were to truly reduce ENC perhaps the container could offset twice its own ENC, so a minimum of 2 ENC but only adding to that where the content exceeds 4 ENC. In the example this would make the effective ENC 2 rather than 3, or if it also contained cooking gear (ENC 3 for a total of 6) the effective ENC would be 4.

  11. I may have missed this, but there doesn't seem to be anything like a waterskin - I would have expected this in Adventuring Gear

Also Pack, Soldiers (P35) doesn't have enc, although the other packs do

Wrist Wrapping (P62) table shows 10HP - this is better than an armoured glove, is that correct? Likewise, Knuckle Strap has 8HP, the same as armoured glove - these seem a little high to me

Tools, Thieves (P35) - doesn't have enc, but as it includes a small pry bar I'd expect something

Just spotted another worrying omission - the Philosopher occupation in the rulebook has a small portable platform as part of the starting equipment, but it doesn't seem to be mentioned in in Weapons & Equipment...

  12. P4 Availability of goods

it's not clear what the modifier in the Market Size and Item Availability table is applied to, the preceding paragraphs deal with size, population, frequency, types of goods but not the modifier, whereas on the following page it states bargain or homeland lore modified by the following table (Homeland Lore Modifiers)

It would be good to have this spelt out, and maybe an example or two at the end of the section?

  13. P8 - are there any rules for how masterwork items are made - maybe special craft roll is one benefit, and a crit is 2?

P 12& 14 is unenchanted gloranthan gold heaver then lead (2x enc compared to 1.5 enc)?

P 14 enchanted ron [sic] states it "does normal damage against creatures such as werewolves that are immune to normal weapons, but subject to magical weapons." - I thought all enchanted rune metals did this, but it doesn't say so for the others

P14 sidebar lists Maran Gor as having Enchant Iron, but RQ Roleplaying in Glorantha has Maran Gor with Enchant Copper. Also Orlanth seems to have gained Enchant Silver - would have thought Tin would be more appropriate

P61 - has picture of spiked staff, but it doesn't appear in any table  or have a description

P76 War Gear - doesn't appear to have enc for any of the items?

P85 the description for Full Helm states "severely limits vision and hearing", but what is the penalty in game terms?

Now, I am sure that a map to a treasure hoard won't be worth much in itself,

A treasure map is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it - I think Olaf the Storyteller (from the Griselda stories) said something like 'it's a sure bet more money is made selling treasure maps than following them..'
