I'm not sure that's correct: if you look at Table 7.2, Missile & Thrown Weapons, the Self Bow is listed as being usable mounted. I had to figure this out because I have a player who's made a character in a similar vein, in his case a riff of the Tristan character from the Clive Owen "King Arthur" film, and so also a mounted archer. (I'm using combat from the Starter Set with KAP5.) When he's participated in battles he's thus far joined the other knights in the lance charge and had to suck it up. I guess if he opted to operate as a mounted archer he'd count as alone and mounted, but this hasn't come up yet.
