  1. I like Traveller, and seeing more 2300 would be welcomed. For.me I use settings as a starting point than go off in my own. Most Gms and players tho want to follow ONLY popculture. So the issue is convert stuff, or be out in the abyss doing stuff alone. So for us in BRP derived games what do we do

  2. Been using Bard's games Arcanum to add to our games system, it has great ideas on nagic ingredents. With some stuff from Chivalry and sorcery. And smidge from Bonewits' Real Magic. bRPs strength and for some its weakness is that it is highlybadpatable. From my dnd zombies, they have problems with its open nature.

  3. Awesome input, it is how I always saw Poison in Rq and Brp. And have taken some health stuff in college I remember LD 50. Somewhere I have some notes on LD50 at the time of various drugs etc. Another way I worl it is by using poisons and drugs from the TRI TAC systems.

  4. Farewell Jorune, Goodbye Barsoom, See you later Talislanta!!! I found a world that makes you all pale.in Comparison. I just got my copy today and the wait was worth it. I am blown away. After gming and gaming since 79 I think is one of my top 5 settings. I think I see influnces from all the above plus Mobius Azrach, Den, even the old black and white Buck Rogers. This is an excellant piece of work. And can easily open to all sorts of ideas. ThanksChristian Conkle.

  5. All dice are percentile dice, lol. Math doesnt change. Reading many of the comments by dnd zombies show a sads lack of thinking ability, and undersranding. Even Gygax knew the fact all dice are percentile in PH discusses finding secrer and concealed doors as both a d6 and d00.

  6. My lovely dnd zombies take a few sessions to break the habit of rolling over. If you want rolemastrr like increases simply allow another roll on a crit and anything better than a special would do even more damage. However since BRP is a low hit point system I dont feel it is necessary.

  7. My superworld and other group had been begging me to run a scifi setting ala the tropes and we have used Worlds beyond as a base system it has some minor flaws, but very workable. I downloaded a ship build system here and though downloaded have not heard back from anyone. It works for anysystem, Trek and big ships are interesting. Anyway, the first rule is KISS, " Keep it simple stupid", in this case stupid means the system. A simple system can be built upon unlike the other systems out there, like high guard and the trek systems, the system gets overly complicated and begins to limit. Your "SDC" system for weapons is interesting, but I would simply state that for some reason hand held beams dont work, the tech cant be developed etc, or the society has severe penalties for their use etc. For ships there are a couple ideas. In the game I am running they obtained a ship that was found derelict. It was a mess, but servicible. Now, they discovered the ship may have been used as apirate vessel and are on the run. They are trying to figure why the ship was abandoned, and discovering the ship itself seems to have ...an agenda, lol. In The the cool game FTL:2448 the example party wins a crappy ship in a card game. Start simple and build.

  8. I have been running superworld along time, LOL. Yes, I have run it, it works and I feel better than any other level based system, and easier than the hero systems but with it's good points. The antihero style character is fun at first till they are finally pushed against the wall alone. If a one shot or small adventure it was never a problem but for longer games showing the PC is vunerable to many "dangers" has held most thinking players at bay. I have kidnapped PCs, stripped powers, altered them, held families, transported them to dimensions and other worlds, so your ideas, if the players care should hold them at bay. But the imaginations of players will always outrace you, so have backup ideas ready.
